Resist… Resist what?

When President Donald Trump shocked the world and won the Presidency in 2016 something else equally shocking happened, an entire political party broke. The election of Trump broke the Democrat Party, and the “resistance” movement is proof. Almost every Hollywood star, Democrat politician, and progressive activist proudly now displays the #resistance on shirts and social media. But when looking at what President Trump has accomplished, the question must be asked, what exactly are they resisting?

Perhaps President Trump’s greatest achievement to date is the economy. The combination of the Republican only passed tax cuts and the all-out assault on the regulatory environment by Trump has supercharged the economy. The most recent job numbers were so good even the adversarial New York Times had to admit the numbers were so good they ran out of words to describe how good the economy is.

Since the tax cuts — remember not a single Democrat voted for them — millions of Americans have benefitted. Americans for Tax Reform keeps a running tally on the companies and what they’ve done since the cuts, and the numbers are staggering. Thousands of companies have given millions of Americans four-figure bonuses and/or pay raises across the country. This equates to billions of dollars being thrust into the economy, creating more jobs. Is this what the left is resisting?

The Trump economy is not only doing well for one sector of society; it is an economy society as a whole is taking advantage of. The overall unemployment stands at a minuscule 3.8 percent. When you break it down by race, which the left loves to do, the numbers also look great for minorities. The African American unemployment rate is at an all-time low of 5.9 percent. Under President Obama, African American unemployment was never below 7.8 percent. Is the Democrat Party resisting African Americans getting jobs?

And the news just keeps getting better for the economy. Tuesday the Department of Labor released statistics showing something that hasn’t happened since 2000, there are more job openings, 6.7 million, than people categorized as unemployed, 6.35 million. Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta commented on the numbers stating, “Never before have we had an economy where the number of open jobs exceeds the number of job seekers.”

The resistance movement has also taken up for the bloodthirsty, violent, international criminal gang MS-13. The gang is a plague on many parts of the country trafficking in drugs, humans, and violence. Communities across the country are under siege 24 hours a day and are looking to federal and law enforcement for help. Enter President Trump. He has made the elimination of the gang and the safety of these communities a focus of his administration. The resistance sees it differently.

Recently, when President Trump referenced the gang as animals when describing the horrific murders and rapes, they commit, and of course, the resistance came to the rescue. Democrats and the elites rushed to the nearest microphone to voice their displeasure with the comment. The leader of the Democrat Party, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), immediately held a press conference bashing President Trump calling his comments “inhuman” and stating, “We’re all God’s children. … Does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person?”

Keep in mind, this gang has the motto of “rape, control, kill,” the resistance movement is against President Trump getting these killers off the streets.

President Trump is also succeeding on the international front. Trump instituted a policy of maximum pressure targeting all companies and nations doing business with North Korea, even insulting Kim Jong-Un on social media. The left and the mainstream media went apoplectic over the strategy, declaring Trump was driving the U.S. to war. Once again, wrong.

The President’s policy has brought North Korea to the negotiation table, something the resistance thought impossible. Not only did Kim Jong-Un come to the negotiation table, he came to the table with no preconditions, something that has rarely happened with the hermit kingdom. The President has made it clear nothing is set, but he and many others, including South Korea, believe we could be on a path to peace on the Korean Peninsula. Is this what the resistance is fighting against, world peace?

The list of Trump accomplishments goes on and on, with the resistance still fighting. They resist despite the President taking up issues the left has typically championed, and the Republican Party was generally against, like criminal justice reform and tariffs. President Trump broke the Democrat Party and has driven them crazy, and the resistance is proof. Let’s ask the question once again, what are they resisting?
