Continuing on the Recovery Summer and Stimulus: State by State, we head to New Mexico.

The employment trend in New Mexico has been one of the worst in the nation. Employment plummeted over the course of 2009, and when a slight “recovery” began to be noticed in March of 2010, it quickly faded and the employment level in New Mexico is now the worst it has ever been since Obama took office. Has the Recovery Act done anything for New Mexico? No.
Has “Recovery Summer” done anything for New Mexico? No.
For a state that gave all of its electoral votes to Obama in 2008, one would expect much different results from Obama’s “stimulus” package. The reality of the failure of the “Recovery Act” is stark, and there is no better example for this failure than in New Mexico. The “Summer of Recovery” never even started in New Mexico, as employment levels have fallen to the lowest point since Obama took office in January of 2009.
