Wisconsin Attorney General Leads the Way Forward For the Death of ObamaCare

Responding to Monday’s ruling in Florida on the constitutionality of ObamaCare, Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen set the tone for the rest of the nation. According to Attorney General Van Hollen, “Wisconsin was relieved of any obligations or duties that were created under terms of the federal health care law.”

Attorney General Van Hollen is absolutely correct.

The ruling in Florida from Judge Vinson declares that ObamaCare is unconstitutional. This means that the legislation signed into law in 2010 is no longer the “law of the land.” Further, this means that implementing the law is illegal, and is in direct violation of the law.

In Wisconsin, they have ceased acknowledging ObamaCare as law. Around the nation, states and Attorneys General should be taking note. Some have, and some are yet to.

Florida Governor Rick Scott announced that his state is “not going to spend a lot of time and money with regard to trying to get ready to implement that (law) until we know exactly what is going to happen.” That’s a start, but there is no need to spend any time or money on implementing the law. We already know what has happened, and that is that ObamaCare has been declared unconstitutional.

Of course, a federal court or the Supreme Court could overturn this ruling, but because it has already been declared unconstitutional by a court, there is no need to implement the former law at any point until something changes. And on the current course, nothing will change.

Should the federal government pursue further action in regards to challenging the Judge Vinson’s Florida ruling, Wisconsin Attorney General Van Hollen has pledged to continue the fight.

As Attorney General Van Hollen stated, “Now, we wait to see if the federal government has finally gotten the message. If they don’t get the message, and decide to appeal the case, as they did when they lost in Virginia, my colleagues and I will continue our fight to defend the Constitution and protect the people of Wisconsin from this unconstitutional law.”

More leaders like Van Hollen are needed throughout the nation. The fight to stop the usurping of the Constitution through ObamaCare is the most important fight of the century. Court after court has ruled that entire parts of, and the entire bill itself, are unconstitutional.

For folks that are looking to see where their state political leaders or national leaders stand on ObamaCare, they can look no further than where they stand with Wisconsin on this matter.

Now is the time for action. Now is the time for leaders to rise up. And now is the time to kill ObamaCare once and for all. Failure to win now will result in utter failure on attempts to scale back the ever-increasing encroachment from the federal government hence forth.
