Efforts are underway in the House of Representatives to stop Obama from having the ability of appointing controversial nominees during a Congressional recess. The efforts are being spearheaded by Rep. Jeff Landry (R-LA).
Rep. Landry, along with 77 House GOP freshman, sent a letter to House GOP leadership urging them to help him with his effort to keep the House and Senate in session to stop Obama from having the ability to make recess appointments.

Obama has used recess appointments in the past to put controversial people in high profile positions. Most famously, Obama recess appointed Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), which has recently caused high profile problems for Boeing.
