The Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act passes the House

The Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act passed the House yesterday, 235-188. As Bill Wilson, President of Americans for Limited Government said about the bill, “The House is to be praised for voting on legislation that will kill the NLRB’s attempt to institute snap elections on behalf of union organizers. The rule, if implemented, will shorten the time businesses have to make their case to their employees. All of this is designed to expedite the unionization process on behalf of big labor. We thank members for standing up to the union bosses.”

8 Republicans, however, stood with the NLRB. They were Grimm Rep. Johnson (IL), Rep. King (NY), Rep. LaTourette, Rep. LoBiondo, Rep. Runyan, Rep. Smith (NJ) and Rep. Young (AK).

On the contrary, 6 Democrats stood strong against the Big Labor interests of the NLRB and supported the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act. They were Rep. Barrow, Rep. Boren, Rep. Cooper, Rep. Cuellar, Rep. Matheson and Rep. McIntyre.
