No one should be surprised the Obama administration spied on political opponents

By Printus LeBlanc

The New York Times finally admitted what many Republicans and President Donald Trump have been saying for almost a year, Trump’s 2016 campaign to become the President was spied on by the opposing party using government resources. It is not surprising President Barack Obama spied on Trump’s campaign, what is surprising is so many people are taken aback by what appears to have happened. After all, it’s the Chicago way.

When looking at how this happened, the first thing to do is look at where President Obama got his political start, Chicago, Illinois. Chicago is a city famous for corruption, in a state constantly ranked in the top five for political corruption. Just last week, the University of Illinois at Chicago released a report naming Chicago as the most corrupt city in the U.S. and Illinois as the third most corrupt state. With that much corruption, it is impossible to be in politics in Chicago, Ill, and not be involved in corruption.

Obama himself had close ties to dedicated communist and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, a man who would go on to an academic career in Chicago. Only in Chicago could a domestic terrorist be entrusted to educate young minds.

The corruption of Chicago has seeped into national politics and gone mainstream in the Democrat party.

Beginning in 2010, Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm launched a series of John Doe investigations against his Republican enemies. John Doe investigations are different from usual criminal investigations; a strict gag order is placed on the targets of the investigation. The targets are not allowed to explain to their employers or neighbors why the police showed up with a swat team at their house at 4:00 am.

Just like the Mueller probe is an investigation looking for a crime, the John Doe investigations do not need a crime to be committed to tear someone’s life upside down. Just like the Mueller probe is filled with conflicts of interest, the John Doe investigations were filled with conflicts, particularly at the top. The wife of the District Attorney that started everything, John Chisholm, was a teacher’s union shop steward. At the time, teachers unions were in a political war with Governor Scott Walker.

Not only were the people being harassed by the District Attorney because of their political beliefs, but there were also selective leaks to the media. While the people under investigation by the probes could not publicly defend themselves, those conducting the investigation were leaking to the media to make the subjects look guilty. Sound familiar?

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry was also a victim of Chicago style political “justice.” After Perry called for a local District Attorney to step down after being involved in a drunk driving incident, the Governor would find himself in the crosshairs of a special prosecutor. A special prosecutor started after political allies of Rosemary Lehmberg, the drunk driving DA, made false ethics complaints against the governor.

After an investigation that would damage his presidential run, Perry was cleared of all charges, and it became evident to anyone paying attention the charges were nothing more than an attempt to destroy the political clout of the popular Texas Governor.

During the Obama administration, we also saw the Justice Department become the ATM for radical progressive groups. When the administration would attack a big bank, it would force concessions out of the bank in the form of payments of millions of dollars to ideological groups the Obama administration agreed with. The current DOJ has put an end to that practice, but tens of millions went to liberal progressive groups that should have gone to victims. Congress still needs to act to ensure the practice never returns.

Quietly, progressive sugar daddy George Soros has been buying District Attorney races around the country. We have already started to see the danger in leftist DAs. From California to Maryland, progressive DAs that believe in their movement more than their job have undercharged our not charged at all legal and illegal immigrants with crimes for fear they will be deported.

These actions have led to a two-tiered justice system. If you are a U.S. citizen, the full force of the law will be brought against you, but if you are an illegal immigrant, the law will look the other way because the left wants your vote one day. It is only a matter of time before local DAs start attacking political opponents, because if they see everyone else getting away with it, why shouldn’t they?

The list of justice malpractice by progressives is endless. President Obama Chicagoized the Democrat Party and the DOJ. Republicans need to wake up and realize these are not JFK Democrats. They have and will use the powers of the state to advance their political agenda when they lose an election. Republicans need to wake up and realize they people across the aisle don’t just disagree with them politically; they want to put them in jail for disagreeing with them.
