Politicians across the country are once again proving they don’t care about American citizens

By Printus LeBlanc

When American citizens go into a voting booth, they are supposed to believe the politician they are choosing to represent them on the local, state, and federal level has their interests at heart. Yet time and time again we see politicians, and their media cronies, push an agenda that treats Americans like they are second-class citizens. If there are still politicians trying to figure out how Donald Trump won, look no further than your actions in treating American citizens like they don’t matter.

California, a state already financially broke and hemorrhaging money, is the nations safest place for illegal immigrants. Not only is the state doing nothing to fix the fiscal issues, progressives in the state capitol have stepped on the gas towards bankruptcy with its latest move.

Last week the California State Assembly passed a bill to expand the state Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal, to illegal immigrants. The state already gives tuition benefits to illegal immigrants while charging out of state U.S. citizens astronomically more. Unfortunately, this is no surprise. There is a companion bill in the Senate, and it too is expected to pass the one-party state. The measure is expected to cost the cash-strapped state over $3 billion a year, but the good news for Californians is, the rest of the nation gets to help pick up the tab because Medicaid is funded partially by the federal government.

One of the few issues that bring politicians together is amnesty. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are far too happy to work together for illegal immigrants, but almost never come together to work for the American people. Nothing demonstrates this more than the current battle over the illegal immigrants.

Pro-amnesty anti-border security Republicans have teamed up with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to introduce a discharge petition to force a “Queen of the Hill” debate on four different immigration bills. What the mainstream media and amnesty proponents don’t want people to know, is they know that the two bills proposing amnesty and no border security will get the most votes, thereby pushing amnesty to the amnesty-friendly Senate.

Is there a discharge petition forcing a vote on school choice, something a majority of Americans support? No. Is there a discharge petition for civil service reform, another topic a majority of Americans support? No. What about a discharge petition securing the border

Politicians at the national level are trying to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants while simultaneously attempting to break illegal immigrant criminals out of jail. California is taking by force the hard-earned tax dollars of its constituents and giving it to people here illegally. Everywhere a citizen looks it seems as though their elected officials care more about people not legally in the country than the people doing things the right way. Is there any reason faith in public officials is low and getting lower?

The most recent tactic used by the media and amnesty loving politicians is to show children being taken away from their parents when they get arrested. Keep in mind, they are being arrested because they committed a crime, but that doesn’t seem to bother the media and politicians. What is most insulting about the latest media craze is the level of hypocrisy involved.

Where were these same media personalities and politicians when American citizens are arrested for a crime and taken away from their family? Every day thousands of American families are split up because of legal issues, but for some reason, the media and politicians only want to focus on the illegal immigrants while ignoring American citizens.

Recently the mayor Philadelphia Jim Kenney posted a video on Twitter of himself doing a victory dance after a court ruled in favor of his sanctuary city policy. That’s right, the mayor of a major U.S. city danced with glee because he does not want to turn over bloodthirsty MS-13 gang members to ICE for deportation. He would rather keep them on the streets terrorizing his community.

Has the mayor ever danced with glee for school choice or good job numbers for his citizens?

The list of grievances American citizens have against their politicians is long, least of which is treating them as if they were second-class citizens. Since the election of Trump to the presidency, the politicians and media have continued their assault on citizens in favor of illegal immigrants. If they ever wish to get back in the favor of those that vote, maybe they should try treating American citizens like they matter.
