Coal
The Obama administration’s EPA has been relentless in its attacks on coal-powered electricity. The controversial “Utility MACT” rule will force the elimination of dozens of current coal-powered plants and make new coal-powered plants prohibitively expensive to build.
Over 37 percent of electricity in the United States is generated by coal-fired power plants. By attempting to kill coal, the EPA is threatening over a third of the nation’s power-generating ability. Further, there is enough naturally-resting coal in the continental United States alone to power the nation for over 500 years at current consumption rates.
