President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts Lead To Manufacturing Boom Across All Fifty States

By Manzanita Miller

The American-made manufacturing boom the U.S. is experiencing under President Donald Trump is a result of two key Trump policies: tariffs and tax cuts. President Trump’s slate of tariffs on foreign products, including now those targeting countries that use forced labor, are encouraging companies to manufacture a variety of products in the U.S., with the Institute for Supply Management’s Purchasing Managers’ Index hitting a four-year high in May.

The other half of the equation is the robust series of tax cuts the president has signed into law. President Donald Trump signed the Working Families Tax Cuts on July 4, 2025, as part of H.R. 1, and the legislation has already reduced taxes for over 12 million small business owners by roughly $7,000 each, according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

According to a new report from the National Association of Manufacturers, the tax cuts President Trump signed into law last summer have already saved close to six million jobs across the United States — close to the population of the entire state of Maryland. In addition, the tax cuts have protected $540 billion in wages.

According to the report, all 50 states have seen thousands of jobs protected, as well as wages and GDP saved, through the provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts. These provisions include full expensing for equipment and machinery, upfront expensing for research and development (R&D), and full deductions for businesses that create new factories or expand existing facilities.

The result has been a manufacturing boom that can be measured across all fifty states.

California, the most populous state in the country, saw a total of 708,000 jobs protected through the Working Families Tax Cuts, as well as $134 billion in GDP saved and $67 billion in wages preserved. Robinson Helicopter, located in Torrance, CA, was able to utilize immediate R&D expensing to drive the company’s wildfire surveillance range of helicopters forward.

Texas, home to the aerospace and defense engineering company WilliamsRDM, saw 547,000 jobs protected, as well as $107 billion in GDP saved and $51 billion in wages saved. According to the report, immediate R&D expensing allowed WilliamsRDM to continue innovating with new technology while preserving existing manufacturing jobs and production.

Florida saw 399,000 jobs protected, as well as $73 billion in GDP saved and $36 billion in wages saved, according to the report. Healthcare company Johnson & Johnson was one of the beneficiaries of the tax cuts in H.R. 1, with the company dedicating over $1 billion to manufacturing, packaging, and distribution in Florida. Johnson & Johnson is expanding a new distribution center estimated to be completed in 2028 and has committed a total of $55 billion to expand manufacturing and research and development across at least three states through 2029.

New York saw 337,000 jobs protected due to the legislation, as well as $66 billion in GDP saved and $32 billion in wages preserved. GSE Dynamics, located in Hauppauge, NY, was able to make a $1.5 million investment in 2026 into a new machining facility. CEO and Owner Anne Shybunko-Moore directly attributed the expansion to the tax cuts, telling the National Association of Manufacturers that the certainty of the tax cuts enabled GSE Dynamics to make the investment. “With the certainty provided by a permanent, pro-growth tax code, GSE Dynamics is set for continued growth and is considering additional equipment and facility investments to increase capacity and capability in support of the defense industrial base,” Shybunko-Moore said.

The U.S. has room to expand with regard to supporting American-made products, but the significant tax cuts and focus on allowing businesses to expense machinery and R&D signed into law by President Trump have encouraged a strong revitalization in the manufacturing sector. The Working Families Tax Cuts have preserved close to six million jobs, reduced taxes for over 12 million small business owners, and saved $540 billion in wages. These are victories rarely acknowledged in the mainstream media, yet millions of Americans are benefiting.
