The Supreme Court will consider two cases involving the Trump administration’s border security programs.

With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

One of the cases challenges the administration’s use of defense funding to help pay for the wall along the southern border, the other case involves “Migrant Protection Protocols” for non-Mexican asylum-seekers, mostly coming from Central America.

Unlike in 2016, immigration has not been a driving issue in the 2020 presidential race.

That’s because President Trump’s policies have largely solved the problem of illegal immigration.

Not only would Trump’s border wall come to an end if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden defeats him in November, Biden would quickly move to roll back many of Trump’s executive orders and actions on immigration, according to the candidate and the party platform.

Biden has promised “There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration.”

Let’s not go back to the bad old days of Obama-Biden when illegal immigrants were allowed to break our laws without consequence.”

More than 4.4 million Americans have lost unemployment assistance since mid-August as benefits have run out, according to Dept. of Labor data, and 55% are in blue states with Democratic governors. In the meantime, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) continues to refuse a deal from President Donald Trump to extend these CARES Act programs — even if it means she loses a few seats in the House. The top ten states in the country with the highest unemployment rates in August prior to workers losing their benefits are all run by Democratic governors with the worst lockdowns: Nevada 13.2%, Rhode Island 12.8%, Hawaii 12.5%, New York 12.5%, California 11.4%, Massachusetts 11.3%, New Mexico 11.3%, Illinois 11%, New Jersey 10.9% and Pennsylvania 10.3%. In addition, small business relief, supporting 5.2 million small businesses and 50 million jobs, ran out on Aug. 8 and airlines ran out of money last month as massive layoffs have been ensuing. When will Nancy Pelosi stop putting politics above people?

Biden’s campaign website calls for a ban on the manufacture, sale, and possession of a host of popular semiautomatic firearms, including the most popular one of all, the AR-15. For anyone who currently owns such guns, Biden’s plan calls for government confiscation, unless gun owners pay a $200 tax and register their firearms with a national data base.

In sharp contrast, President Trump, has been a staunch support of gun rights who has resisted calls to back gun control legislation.

Biden not only voted for the 1994 assault weapons ban, he wrote the bill. As we’ve seen in recent months with the pandemic and rise of domestic terrorist groups such as Antifa , Americans are genuinely afraid for their personal safety. With his running mate, Kamala Harris, supporting cutting $150 million from the Los Angeles Police Department, this team’s policies would leave law-abiding Americans defenseless.

With the Americans for Limited Government news minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

At last week’s presidential debates Joe Biden, to his great shame, dismissed Antifa is “an idea, not an organization.” But Attorney General William Barr has said the violence Antifa instigates and carries out is “domestic terrorism.” FBI Director Christopher Wray has called Antifa “anarchists and agitators.”
If Joe Biden insists on calling Antifa just an idea, could he at least call it a bad one?
The Foundation for Economic Education wrote of Antifa’s tactics, “they must use intolerance, aggression, coercion, and intimidation in order to subvert—in their estimation—the oppressive patriarchal capitalist society. The only way they can turn the tables of power is to use force and threats of force, which are completely justified by the ends they achieve.”

Biden has not clearly articulated that he will protect America from the radical ideology that is Antifa. Americans want a leader who will first and foremost keep us safe.
