We bumped into some Trump supporters on an intersection in Texas. Despite what the mainstream media reports, a group known as Latinos for Trump says the president will win a lot of Hispanic support at the polls this year.

Is ‘I’m not a Russian agent, you’re a Russian agent’ the future of American politics?
http://dailytorch.com/2020/02/is-im-not-a-russian-agent-youre-a-russian-agent-the-future-of-american-politics/
Who’s winning the Moscow primary? On Feb. 21, the Washington Post reported that Russia is trying to help boost Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination: “U.S. officials have told Sen. Bernie Sanders that Russia is attempting to help his presidential campaign as part of an effort to interfere with the Democratic contest, according to people familiar with the matter.” But it’s apparently a bipartisan affair as, in the very same story, the Russians are simultaneously reportedly backing President Donald Trump, too. The article refers to “a briefing to lawmakers last week in which a senior intelligence official said that Russia wants to see Trump reelected, viewing his administration as more favorable to the Kremlin’s interests…” Here we go again. So, if it comes down to Sanders and Trump in the general election, who does Russia support? It doesn’t matter, because none of this is real. Sanders and Trump are once again being targeted with the very same allegations made against them in 2016 that they were favored by Russia, when it was a means of discrediting them both as Manchurian Candidates in order to bolster the prospects of Hillary Clinton — and to put down future anti-establishment political campaigns. Here, a defensive briefing of the Sanders campaign was used to hurt Sanders in the Democratic primary race against Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg and Mike Bloomberg by broadcasting Moscow’s supposed preference for Sanders. For now, it’s a campaign talking point. But are we about to see a repeat of 2016, with ridiculous intel interference in the elections?

The Democrats invented Bernie Sanders by toying with socialism for a generation:
http://dailytorch.com/2020/02/the-democrats-invented-bernie-sanders-by-toying-with-socialism-for-a-generation/
After another big win, this time in Nevada with 46 percent of the vote, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a self-described democratic socialist, is the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 — and the Democratic establishment has no idea what to do about it. But really, Democrats have nobody to blame but themselves. If Sanders weren’t running, they’d have to invent him. More than a generation has been spent declaring cultural Marxism to be a conspiracy theory, all the while the left was soft peddling socialism and radicalism in our public schools and universities, in Hollywood and in governmental and non-governmental institutions. And in pushing radical environmentalism to transform the U.S. economy that has fostered the Green New Deal, a proposal to end oil, gas, nuclear and coal consumption by 2030, convert to solar and wind, and put the U.S. at a global disadvantage economically versus China and other emerging economies. And in implementing a national, government-run health care system such that now the predominant Democratic proposal is to end private health insurance and institute socialized, single-payer health care. And into demonizing wealth and success so that now the Democrats’ national platform now calls for redistributing wealth, raising taxes and pitting Americans against one another via class warfare, all the while disincentivizing work with universal basic income schemes. Until now a full 50 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism, according to the latest NPR-Marist poll conducted Feb. 13-16. Only 33 percent of Democrats polled had a negative view of socialism. And while the overall outcome of the poll shows 58 percent of Americans oppose socialism — creating an uphill battle for Sanders in the general election and giving President Donald Trump a decided advantage this November — that is a snapshot in time. Is socialism the future of the Democratic Party, if not the U.S.?

Obama didn’t build that. Trump will be judged by the present state of the economy in 2020.

Incumbents are always judged by the present state of the economy and when voters go to the polls this year they will be judging President Donald Trump, not former President Barack Obama. It’s how the American people hold politicians accountable. Just ask Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush if they think the economy had any bearing on their political fortunes. Both had recessions occur during their first terms in office, which turned out to be their last. No amount of blaming their predecessors would have made a difference. If the economy were to have entered a recession during President Trump’s watch — recall the headlines from last summer when short term interest rates briefly inverted with long term interest rates — you can bet that President Trump would have been blamed for it. It stands to reason then that with the economy doing so well, and Americans becoming wealthier, that Trump will undoubtedly receive the lion’s share of the credit when the American people go to vote in November. Voters will likely point to the President’s policies on tax cuts, deregulation and America first trade with new fair and reciprocal trade deals with Mexico, Canada, China, South Korea and Japan as playing a key role. Is that really surprising to anyone who follows politics?

Trump and Barr were outraged by DOJ recommending Roger Stone get 9 years in prison, and so should you:
http://dailytorch.com/2020/02/trump-and-barr-were-outraged-by-doj-recommending-roger-stone-get-9-years-in-prison-and-so-should-you/
The ink has barely dried on the acquittal of President Donald Trump in Congressional Democrats’ failed impeachment attempt to remove him from office and now it is right on to the next thing, this time the faux outrage that the Justice Department reduced its sentencing recommendation for Trump friend Roger Stone from 9 years to leaving it up to the judge to decide. The filing noted that the initial recommendation of 9 years in prison was akin to sentences received by violent offenders. And just like that, the left and the Washington, D.C. establishment were in another tizzy, this time with more than 2,000 former Justice Department officials signing a petition calling for Barr to resign. The petition claims that “It is unheard of for the Department’s top leaders to overrule line prosecutors” to give what the petitioners say is “preferential” treatment for Stone. And yet, under 28 U.S. Code § 519 it is the Attorney General’s job to supervise all prosecutions and prosecutors: “the Attorney General shall supervise all litigation to which the United States, an agency, or officer thereof is a party, and shall direct all United States attorneys, assistant United States attorneys, and special attorneys appointed under section 543 of this title in the discharge of their respective duties.” Meaning, if the Attorney General determines that a prosecution is malicious or in this case, that a sentence recommendation was excessive, he has a responsibility under law to intervene in the case. And under Article II’s vesting of executive power in the President and charging him with faithfully executing the laws in addition to his pardon powers, so does President Trump. What do you think?
