The founder of the racially charged slave-focused sixteen-nineteen project – says Cuba is the model for racial equality. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The sixteen-nineteen project is a New York Times initiative that helped inspire the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools. Founder Nikole Hannah-Jones gave an interview with Vox news in which she claimed Cuba had the “least inequality between black and white people. “In places that are truly bi-racial, Cuba has the least inequality and that is largely due to socialism, which I am sure no one wants to hear.” She’s right about that last part. We all know what equality looks like under socialism in Cuba – blacks and whites are equally indigent and miserable. Hannah-Jones has also praised the communist revolution for bringing about the “end of codified racism.” So, the cat’s out of the bag. These radicals want to bring communism to our shores. They’re trying to indoctrinate our school children. If you agree we have to stop this madness, check us out at the DailyTorch.com

The people of Cuba and of Hong Kong are living without their freedoms. They have fought to lift that. It may one day be a reality for them. Are we losing that as our reality?

Republicans slam the brakes on speedy passage of bipartisan infrastructure deal. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. According to the Washington Examiner, Republicans are not ready to back a $1 trillion so-called infrastructure package Democrats hope to consider this week because they are skeptical of how the government would pay for the plan without adding to the nation’s staggering debt. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer outlined an ambitious summer legislative schedule last week that would include passing both the bipartisan infrastructure bill as well as a Democratic budget resolution that would unlock consideration of a much larger spending package on so-called human infrastructure – things like child and elder care. But Democrats need at least 10 Republicans to pass the bipartisan deal, and according to some GOP lawmakers, they are likely to fall short and even lose some of the 11 Republicans who initially backed the package. Let’s hope limited government prevails and we stop another massively wasteful spending bill from reaching the President’s desk. For more check us out at the Daily Torch.com

A Cuban-American hip-hop star is letting his voice be heard on the protests in Cuba. He is angry that it can’t be heard in Cuba! Wait until you hear what he has to say.

Did taxpayers get ripped off to the tune of four-hundred billion dollars in fake unemployment claims during the pandemic? With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. That’s the question Congressman Doug Lamborn of Colorado and more than 30 other House Republicans want to know. The Members of Congress sent a letter to the Inspector General requestion an investigation into coronavirus-related unemployment fraud demanding the Department of Labor be thoroughly audited. Congressman Lamborn said he is – quote deeply concerned that American taxpayer dollars have even gone to overseas foreign nationals posing as American citizens. The Department of Labor Inspector General estimates that improper or fraudulent unemployment benefits paid since March 2020 during the pandemic will be more than 10% of the $896 billion in benefits distributed. ID.me, an online identity solutions website, estimates as much as $400 billion in unemployment benefit payments may have been fraudulent. That amounts to about fifty percent of unemployment money. The FBI is now asking Americans to turn in friends and family we suspect of homegrown violent extremism. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The FBI has recently made posts on various social media saying that – quote – Family members and peers are often best positioned to witness signs of mobilization to violence. Help prevent homegrown violent extremism. The FBI then recommends turning these people into the FBI. And you might also be on the lookout for family members with LEGO sets – apparently those are super radical. The FBI found a Lego set of the US capitol in one suspect’s home accused in the January sixth capitol breach. Our civil liberties are at stake We have a federal government that is intent on punishing its political enemies and asking YOU to participate in their crackdown. If you agree that we must stop the tyrannical abuses of the federal government, go to GETLIBERTY.org and send a letter to Congress on our easy take action section.

The idea of giving everyone their fair share has been what brought about Communist regimes in the past. It has lead to starvation and a lot of people dying in persecution. Listen to what the Biden team is promoting. It might sound familiar.

Many industries and small businesses report they are still lacking about fifty percent of their pre-pandemic workforce. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Oklahoma businesses were especially hard hit and to bring back workers the state is offering twelve-hundred dollar back-to-work incentives. Still, the National Federation of Independent Business’ latest monthly jobs report shows 46% of small business owners across the country have positions they can’t fill. A representative of the group thinks many are staying out of the work force to care for young children or older family members. Oklahoma is one of the states that back in May cut off the extra federal unemployment benefits. Hopefully, those people still on the sidelines will get back to work and our small businesses can being operating at full speed soon. This weird post-pandemic job market is just further proof of the damage state governments did with the heavy-handed lockdowns and why we hope they never come back!
