Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer has announced a relaxation of the dress code on the Senate floor. In the past, everyone setting foot in the Senate had to be dressed in a suit and tie, or for women, similarly professional clothing. This is part of a larger problem in the Senate: it has become a circus of elected officials who in some cases should not be there at all.
