Unemployment Rate at 9.5%, Another 131,000 Jobs Lost

The unemployment figure remains unchanged at 9.5%. Also, 131,000 jobs were lost.

The high number of job losses were due to nearly 143,000 temporary census jobs ending. As many predicted, these census jobs would only temporarily pad the employment figures put out by the administration.

Since July of 2009, the number of people who are participating in the civilian labor force has decreased 0.8%–a massive drop.
