The Daily Wrap-Up according to Adam Bitely:

Good Thursday Afternoon –

Obama selects a terrible candidate for Director of Center for Medicare and Medicaid services–Dr. Donald Berwick. “Obama wanted to keep a lid on that particular controversy, he just selected about the worst possible nominee for director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the office that oversees government health care programs. Obama’s pick, Dr. Donald Berwick, is an outspoken admirer of the British National Health Service and its rationing arm, the National Institute for Clinical Effectiveness (NICE).” Continue reading.

Daily Caller: White House says Sestak answers will be coming soon… We’re not holding our breath.

From our newest NRD contirbutor, Anita MonCrief: Obama, ACORN and Stealth Socialism. MonCrief writes, “As an ex-ACORN insider and ex-radical who used Democrat donor lists to raise money for ACORN alter-ego Project Vote and designed the ACORN 2005, 2006 and 2007 Political Operations Year End PowerPoint presentations, I know that President Obama (for whom I now regretfully admit I proudly voted) was an ACORN guy for many years and realize that he became the instrument for the implementation of its stealth socialism agenda.”

The Union Pension Bailout is guaranteed to be costly according to ALG’s Robert Romano. Romano goes after Media Matters’ claims that this is neither a bailout nor does it cost $165 billion. “Even the unions that would be eligible for the bailout are making no qualms about the fact that this is indeed a bailout. And it could cost upwards of $165 billion, if the ‘endangered’ and ‘critical status’ plans manage to dump all of their unfunded liabilities onto the PBGC. FOX Business was right.” Keep reading.

Barbara Hollingsworth at the Washington Examiner warns of the coming Union Pension Bailouts. She writes, “Bailout-weary taxpayers will not be happy to learn that the Senate Committee on Health Education Labor and Pensions has scheduled a hearing Thursday on a bill providing up to $165 billion to rescue underfunded union pensions.”

A Federal Censor for the Web? That’s what Hit & Run blogger Peter Suderman concluded yesterday. From Suderman, “A friend just sent me this summary of a panel discussion from last month in which FCC Commissioner Michael Copps—the same bureaucrat whose legal counsel recently joked that he’d love to have “jurisdiction over everything”—reportedly dodged a question about regulating indecency on the web while noting that Americans want “something done” about explicit content” Get the story.

Kirsten Powers at the NY Post is wondering where Obama’s Plan A was in reference to the BP Oil Spill. Obama claims that critics don’t know the facts. Politico has the story.

Washington Times Editorial–Walpin-Gate Re-Opens: “Republican senators ought to place an open and immediate hold upon the nomination of Jon A. Hatfield as inspector general of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The legislative hold is necessary not to question Mr. Hatfield’s fitness for the job, but to insist that the job itself should not yet be deemed open. The former inspector general (IG), the improperly dismissed Gerald Walpin, filed a motion in court May 20 to force a judge to stop ignoring his lawsuit for reinstatement. Until he receives his day in court, no replacement should be confirmed.”
