The Daily Wrap-Up according to Adam Bitely:

Good Thursday Afternoon –

In just a few moments, the Senate will vote on the resolution offered by Lisa Murkowski to block the EPA from enforcing new regulations. Below is some information on the vote:

This morning, the Senate Judiciary Committee held an executive business meeting where they discussed Obama’s nomination of Judge Robert Chatigny. Read about Chatigny here.

Cartoon of the day, “America’s CEO“.

Organized labor flushed their members’ money down the toilet. From Adam Bitely, “At the same time Big Labor was spending money like drunken sailors in Arkansas, their lobbyists stand with their hands out demanding that taxpayers bail out their dramatically underfunded pension systems  to the tune of a possible $165 billion.”

Antitrust rules, damage caps should be reconsidered. Kevin Mooney writes, “Standing behind the after affects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill is an incestuous relationship between big business and big government that grew out of regulatory stipulations liberal media outlets have long championed. Although the New York Times has done an effective job of exposing BP’s negligence, it has overlooked the role of public policy.”

Washington Examiner: Obama falls headfirst into the hypocrisy trap. Chris Stirewalt writes of Obama, “His compulsive, reflexive finger-pointing at Republicans, George W. Bush and vague villains on the right is not only unbecoming, it also reinforces the gathering public verdict that Obama is a weakling.”

Washignton Times: Obama team honors Walpin-gate transgressor. “Only in the Obama administration would a public official sanctioned for a form of malfeasance be honored as a speaker by the same organization that sanctioned him. It helps, of course, when he is a self-proclaimed Friend of the First Couple. It also doesn’t hurt that the administration already found it politically convenient to fire the inspector general, Gerald Walpin, who blew the whistle on his misdeeds.”

The Daily Caller: ACORN employees tells FBIof deliberate election fraud, according to new documents. “The radical activist group ACORN “works” for the Democratic Party and deliberately promotes election fraud, ACORN employees told FBI investigators, according to an FBI document dump Wednesday.”

Politico: Lawmakers seek to gut ethics office. “Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have led the charge, airing complaints about the aggressive, independent panel in a private session with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last month, and they’ve drafted a resolution that, if approved, would severely curtail the panel’s power.”
