Podhoretz argues that Barack Obama fundamentally misunderstands American democracy.  Obama believes that since he won the election that he is entitled to remake the world in his image, with no frustrating arguments with people who disagree.  But Podhoretz says that the beauty of our system of government is that it makes it hard for politicians to act and that every policy must go through a transparent public debate.
