Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia, and Clarence Thomas will be skipping tonight’s premier political theater event at the U.S. Capitol. Chief Justice Roberts will lead only 6 members of SCOTUS to the Capitol for Obama’s State of the Union address.
Everyone should remember last year’s STOU when Obama outright fibbed about the Citizens United v. FEC decision and the reaction that Justice Alito gave:
I commented earlier on how useless these types of speeches are. Hopefully Alito (he is hanging out in Hawaii), Scalia and Thomas will do something more useful with their time like order a pizza in and watch some ESPN Sportscenter (the one network that doesn’t air the SOTU).
