Countdown: Obama’s 8 most dishonest state of the union moments

“When we rescued our automakers … we worked with them to set higher fuel efficiency standards for our cars.”

Self-indulgent, hero complex word usage for bailing out GM and Chrysler aside, the assertion that the EPA and Department of Transportation “worked with” auto makers to set new fuel standards—which will increase the cost of new cars by $3,000 by 2025 and assign undue regulatory burdens on an entire market—is as honest as saying the EPA “worked with” coal-using energy companies to create MACT regulations.
