Catherine Engelbrecht, the head of the Tea Party group King Street Patriots as well as True the Vote, was personally audited by the government after beginning her involvement with the groups. The IRS audited her personal tax returns, her business was audited by OSHA, she was questioned by the FBI on six occasions, and was questioned by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

No charges were filed and no criminal activity associated with Engelbrecht was found.

She has not been deterred by the government harassment and currently has a lawsuit against the Obama Administration for its attempt at base political intimidation.
