Biden’s greatest success so far continues to be illustrating to the American people what a monumental mistake was made in electing him over his predecessor.

Former President Donald Trump is once again showing leadership in the face of the current administration’s deliberate neglect of the border crisis they reinvigorated. Joe Biden has repeatedly denied the existence of this crisis, opting instead to refer to the massive surges of illegal border crossings as a mere “challenge.” Had Trump attempted to minimize the situation back when the media cared about the border, he would have met with the full ire of the demagogues on the left. “Moderate” Joe it seems has been given a pass in this regard.
U.S. Customs & Border Patrol just this week released a statement detailing the extent of the problem. According to their data, Border Patrol encountered 180,034 undocumented people attempting to cross over into the US. This represents a 674 percent increase from May of 2020, when just 23,237 illegal aliens were apprehended under the Trump Administration.
Each month of the Biden presidency has seen an increase in these numbers from the month previous. CBP also revealed that a startling estimated 250,000 aliens have managed to escape apprehension this year so far, escaping into the US unaccounted for. With President Joe Biden’s effective muzzling of ICE’s ability to enforce immigration law leading to a sharp decrease in deportations since 2020, it appears doubtful that they will be able to keep up with the hundreds of thousands who have already unlawfully entered, notwithstanding those who will continue to slip through the cracks.
It could only be due to willful ignorance that anyone would suggest this massive increase is not due to the change in our country’s leadership in January. Biden’s campaign promise to reject all of Trump’s “inhumane” border policies has clearly served as an open invitation to those looking to make the trip, with some even claiming to media outlets that the only reason they chose to come when they did was because Biden is now in the Oval Office.
Even after appointing president-in-waiting Kamala Harris as his “border czar” months ago, neither she nor the President has bothered to take a trip to the southern border to survey their own mess. The Vice President has even appeared annoyed in interviews when asked about the topic, particularly when pressed by NBC’s Lester Holt last week, Harris justified her self-abdication of responsibility by sharing that she “hasn’t been to Europe” either. She went on to claim that she “didn’t understand the point” that Holt had been making.
The problem has become too big to ignore however, try though the Democrats might, leaving real leaders to fill the void.
In a statement posted on Tuesday, June 15th, former President Trump revealed his plans to travel to the southern border with Texas governor Greg Abbot to survey the situation, “I have accepted the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott to join him on an official visit to our Nation’s decimated Southern Border on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.”
The 45th President continued, ripping into the Biden Admin’s lackluster policies and overall handling of the crisis. “The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history. It’s an unmitigated disaster zone…If this weren’t bad enough, Biden and Harris won’t even tour the scenes of the wreckage they created, or come down and visit with the Border Patrol and ICE heroes risking their lives to defend our Nation at a time when the White House is doing everything it can to make their job totally impossible,” Trump added. “What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave and willful dereliction of duty. My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation—and show the incredible people of ICE and Border Patrol that they have our unshakeable support.”
It’s a comfort to know that true patriots like Abbot and Trump are willing to step up and take care of business when Harris and Biden would rather ignore the growing problem, presumably for fear of garnering any bad press.
Biden’s greatest success so far continues to be illustrating to the American people what a monumental mistake was made in electing him over his predecessor.
