By Adam Bitely — On Oct. 5, a true American hero passed away. At the age of 56, Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, lost his life battling pancreatic cancer.
Under the visionary leadership of Jobs at Apple, millions of Americans have iPads, iPods, iPhones, MacBooks, and various other devices that came into being because of the entrepreneurial spirit that Steve Jobs had. Jobs’ innovations in the computer world have improved the lives of tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people world-wide.
On top of his incredible devices, he began his company in his garage. He literally started on the ground and pulled himself up to the top of the world. Jobs was a risk taker. He wasn’t afraid to fail. In fact, it was his failures that led to the devices that we love today.
It is people like Steve Jobs that improve our lives with their inventions and innovations — not politicians that promise to spend other people’s money to improve one’s situation.
Cancer has yet again robbed the world of a great person. It is unlikely that a statue will be erected in his honor on the National Mall in D.C., but the contributions of Jobs to our society is much more than any bureaucrat can hope to make, and much better than the sniveling, conniving politicians that promise to make your life better. It is people like Jobs that deserve the respect and honor of our society, not the people who make careers out of spinning their rhetoric and robbing people’s paychecks.
Few Americans that are celebrated after their deaths did as much as Steve Jobs did to make our lives better. It is easy to lift up politicians who write legislation with nice titles, but there are few people like Steve Jobs that have really impacted our lives in every way, shape and form imaginable.
Steve Jobs is a true American hero — an innovator who improved countless lives without having to make false promises. He passed away far too young, and the world will never know what he would have developed had he lived a full life.
This is indeed a sad time in America and across the entire world.
