Of all the possible consequences of the war on Iran that could benefit the United States, none is more startling and impactful than the crack-up of NATO — potentially ridding the anchor around the necks of the American people by walking away from the obsolete and wasteful bureaucracy.
As President Donald Trump noted on Truth Social on April 8, pointing to NATO’s conspicuous absence in helping the U.S. and Israel defeat Iran: “NATO WASN’T THERE WHEN WE NEEDED THEM, AND THEY WON’T BE THERE IF WE NEED THEM AGAIN. REMEMBER GREENLAND, THAT BIG, POORLY RUN, PIECE OF ICE!!!”
Has NATO outlived its usefulness?
To recap the situation, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was formed in 1949 as a defensive coalition of European and North American nations to counter the perceived threat from the Soviet Union. With much of Europe still in ruins from the Second World War, the need for support for those nations wishing to be free of Soviet intimidation and to rebuild their nations and economies made sense, both the United States and for much of Europe.
But when circumstances changed the bureaucracy and institutional inertia did not. In 1991, the Soviet Union dissolved. There was no longer a threat from the new Russian Federation. Its population, economy and disposable wealth had dissipated into the muck of socialist inefficacy and corruption. The economies of Europe were not in ruins. In fact, with the United States bearing the burden of defense, these nations had built lavish social welfare systems with the unused money. Their industries flourished with a range of subsidies allowing them to penetrate the American market while not facing the type of competition that should have been expect.
So, all the reasons for the establishment of NATIO had been met. There was no threat from an ideologically motivated super-power and the economies and social structures of the nations of Europe had been fully rebuilt. Why, then, did NATO continue?
There are many reasons but there are two in particular that should be considered paramount. First, those forces of globalization — those banking and ideologically focused interests — wanted to continue the raid on the U.S. economy and people. When it was American jobs being shipped off to foreign lands, these globalists were happy. And when it was the blood of American youth being spent to achieve whatever goal was determined to be of importance today and not that of Europe’s neutered young, that was even better.
NATO is and has been a globalist project — draw American into a web of commitments that drain us.
Second, tens of thousands of people rely on the so-called “Atlantic community” for their status and livelihood. There are think tanks filled with highly paid paper-pushers who do nothing to help build the societies of Europe or America but who can be counted on to attend the next conference at some luxury venue all paid by government money. The ranks of our politicized military are stuffed with those who get a NATO command assignment. This “hard duty” is living in some of the most pleasant and comfortable locales available while climbing the ludicrous advancement ladder.
And there is the real core of the globalist cabal that is haunting the world — the bankers. Those who control the currencies of all nations end up making the rules, a system that has evolved over time, an intermarriage and use of government support into what today is the tightly controlled cabal of Central Banks that do, in fact, control the currencies of all nations. It is this tiny group of people who want greater authority for international organization and not countries. It is they who have worked behind the scenes for more than two hundred years to eliminate borders and any barriers to their insane lust for ever more power and money.
In short, world government controlled by bankers and “intellectual elites” is preferred to representative government and the will of the People.
This is why we still have NATIO. It is why our sons and daughters are sacrificed to the whims of elitist thieves. And it is why we have allowed our industries to be crushed, communities destroyed and our safety and health put in peril.
The structure of globalist designs is deep and far reaching. It has not been attacked for 75 years. But if now there is a chance to rid ourselves of one of its most dangerous tenacles, we should do it without delay.
So, Mr. President, you have stated clearly that the so-called NATO allies have had a free ride long enough. They left us holding the bag and denounced your move to eliminate the nuclear threat from Iran. And when their oil supplies were held up and they faced the reality of their insane “green dream” they came begging for us to bail them out.
It is over. Withdraw from NATO. Recall all U.S. military from them. Bring all US troops stationed in Europe home. It is long past time. Freeing the United States from NATO would be the greatest prize possible from the Iran conflict.
