American reports on the Boston Massacre spread fast and it brought about a feeling the British were tyrants. Then, the British put a tax on tea for the colonists. Groups such as the Sons of Liberty were gaining momentum, it brought about a rebellion that led to hundreds of tea chests being dumped in the Boston Harbor.
