The internet is buzzing right now with a story about Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch’s refusal to wear a mask in the Court chambers. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. During oral arguments a few weeks ago in the Biden vaccine mandate cases, you may recall that Justice Sonya Sotomayor refused to attend the hearing in person, choosing to remain in her office and participating through zoom. Turns out she did not want to sit next to an unmasked Gorsuch in the hearing – all the other justices wore masks. According to NPR they did so at the request of Chief Justice Roberts – who was trying to accommodate Sotomayor. News reports say the justice has diabetes and is at high risk for COVID complications. Fair enough. But N-P-R then went off on a mean-spirited attack on Gorsuch claiming “Gorsuch, from the beginning of his tenure, has proved a prickly justice, not exactly beloved even by his conservative soulmates on the court.
NPR then devoted the rest of their” essentially calling Gorsuch a narcissist. Pathetic.

Jen Psaki: “I think everybody listening to that speech who is speaking on the level, as my mother would say, would know that he was not comparing them as humans, but he was comparing the choice to those figures in history.

This is nuts! Not comparing them as humans? What else are they… non-humans?

Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin come out against eliminating the senate filibuster rule to pass President Biden’s so-called voting rights bill. We look at Biden’s week of failure.

Joe Biden may have hit a low point in his presidency this week with his woefully ignorant remarks in pushing for a so-called election rights bill. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

“Today I am making it clear to protect our Democracy, I support changing the Senate rule, whichever way they need to be changed to prevent a minority of senators from blocking action on voting rights. When it comes to protecting majority rule in America, the majority should rule in the United States Senate.

The Senate, indeed our entire system of checks and balances, were specifically designed by the founding fathers to protect MINORITY rights – we have never been a pure democracy – that is what the founder’s feared most – mob rule. Mitch McConnell called the president’s remarks, incoherent, incorrect, and beneath his office.

Attorney General Merrick Garland told us the FBI’s investigation into the January 6th capitol breach would be the extensive investigation in agency’s history. Perhaps he misspoke and meant to say the most extensive coverup! With today’s Americans for limited government minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Check out this exchange in a senate hearing this week between Senator Ted Cruz and FBI executive Jill Sanborn:
“Did any FBI agents or confidential informants commit crimes of violence on January 6th?
“I can’t answer that, sir.”
“Did any FBI agents or FBI informants actively encourage and incite crimes of violence on January 6th?”
“Sir, I can’t answer that.”
And on and on with nearly every question the senator asked. By the end, Senator Tom Cotton asked if the FBI had even prepared for the hearing. It appears the only thing the FBI is prepared for is stonewalling and obfuscating the truth.
