“We can’t close up our nation, or you’re not going to have a nation.” That was President Donald Trump in the final debate of 2020, making his closing argument to the American people on reopening the economy and getting life back as close to normal as possible following the state-led Covid pandemic lockdowns. 25 million jobs were lost when labor markets bottomed in April, but with President Trump’s leadership and insistence on safely reopening, 14 million jobs have already been recovered, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That leaves 11 million more jobs to get back, and clearly, President Trump will not be satisfied until every American who wants a job, can find one — promising to return to the 50-year low in unemployment that was seen as recently as February before the virus struck. There is still a long way to go, and the recovery could be muted by the ongoing lockdowns centered in blue states if they go on much longer. As President Trump warned, “We can’t let that happen, Joe, you can’t let that happen. We have to open up.” What do you think?

Former Vice President Joe Biden inherited a recession in 2009 when he and former President Barack Obama were elected in 2008, and if he wins this year, it will happen again. Although 14 million jobs have already been recovered from the state-led Covid pandemic economic lockdowns in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ household survey — up to 25 million were lost when labor markets bottomed in April — there is still a long way to go to get back the other 11 million jobs. Here’s the problem. The last time Biden as in the White House with Obama, it would not be until May 2012 when the U.S. economy would begin creating jobs on a net basis — almost three-and-a-half years after they took office. Could Obama and Biden have acted quicker?

The Pentagon recently issued an alarming report about the Chinese Communist Party’s ominous military build-up. The People’s Republic is amassing a vast array of warships, bombers and other aircraft, missiles, tanks, etc. as part of its bid to dominate the world. We are the intended target of these weapons and other techniques Chinese strategists call “unrestricted warfare.” Millions of American investors are unknowingly paying for these threats through their purchase of Chinese stocks and bonds. That is intolerable. It must end. That is especially so since Chinese corporations that are getting money from Wall Street can do so without having to conform to the same rules their American counterparts must play by. Our companies have to be transparent, properly audited and willing to disclose fully material risks. The CCP’s companies don’t. Senior U.S. government officials have repeatedly warned that Chinese companies may defraud investors. Many are involved in human rights abuses and/or pose threats to our national security. The Labor Department says that twelve of these corporations actually use child- or slave-labor making investors in them effectively slave owners. In August, a top State Department official warned college and university governing boards served notice that the value of Chinese stocks and bonds are likely to be decline as a result of U.S. government action and that they should, therefore, divest from China. As should every private investor.

Number 1. – A $15-an-hour minimum wage

This could cost the U.S. as many as two million jobs, according to a new report from the Employment Policies Institute.

Number 2 – Green New Deal

Biden’s energy plans would destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs, harm American manufacturing, and destroy $2.5 trillion in gross domestic product by the year 2035.

Number 3 – Right-to-work laws

Biden’s labor agenda is would force millions of workers to join a union and pay union dues.

Number 4 – Higher taxes

Biden wants to repeal the Trump tax cut.

Number 5. Another Covid lockdown

Biden says he would “lock down” the economy again to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Biden’s only experience with job creation, has been creating jobs for his son, Hunter, through graft and corruption.

Under Biden, millions of American workers would lose their jobs, families would struggle to pay higher taxes, and many would be forced into unions against their will.

From 1986 to 2018, the U.S. has taken in 32.6 million immigrants. 6.4 million or about 20 percent were from Mexico alone, according to the annual Yearbook of Immigration Statistics published by the Department of Homeland Security. Put another way, a country that comprises less than 2 percent of the world’s population made up one-fifth of all U.S. immigration. Nearly all of that was the 1986 amnesty and then the family-based preferences for those who received the amnesty. 87.6 percent of Mexican immigrants are family preferences for either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. Another 1.1 million Mexicans are current on the family preferences waiting lists in 2019, or 33.6 percent of the 3.2 million total worldwide. Soon, they will become lawful permanent residents, and afterward, citizens — all legally. And in 2016, according to exit polls, Latinos voted by a margin of 2 to 1 for Hillary Clinton. The question Republican lawmakers need to ask themselves is simple. How many more elections does the GOP expect to win without the popular vote?

The media has been known to slant things to the left. But its biasing has gone haywire in the Trump-era. In fact, New York Post exposes on Hunter Biden’s dealings have been censored with just weeks to go before election day! It seems the biasing is more like a complete shutdown.

The Supreme Court will consider two cases involving the Trump administration’s border security programs.

With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

One of the cases challenges the administration’s use of defense funding to help pay for the wall along the southern border, the other case involves “Migrant Protection Protocols” for non-Mexican asylum-seekers, mostly coming from Central America.

Unlike in 2016, immigration has not been a driving issue in the 2020 presidential race.

That’s because President Trump’s policies have largely solved the problem of illegal immigration.

Not only would Trump’s border wall come to an end if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden defeats him in November, Biden would quickly move to roll back many of Trump’s executive orders and actions on immigration, according to the candidate and the party platform.

Biden has promised “There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration.”

Let’s not go back to the bad old days of Obama-Biden when illegal immigrants were allowed to break our laws without consequence.”
