President Donald Trump has received a definite bump in polls following the presidential nominating conventions, including his acceptance speech for the Republican nomination at the White House on Aug. 27. The latest NBC-Marist poll conducted Aug. 31 to Sept. 6 shows President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden tied in a neck-in-neck race in Florida, with 48 percent to 48 percent. Trafalgar Group shows Trump leading Biden among likely voters in Florida, 49 percent to 46 percent in a poll conducted Sept. 1 to Sept. 3. That’s a marked improvement from Trafalgar’s poll taken June 29 to July 2, that showed the race tied 46 percent to 46 percent. CNBC-Change Research had Biden up 6 points in Florida, Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in early August, 50 percent to 44 percent, but by Aug. 21 to Aug. 23, right after the Democratic National Convention and Biden’s Aug. 20 acceptance speech, the lead had narrowed to 49 percent to 46 percent. Quinnipiac had Biden leading by 13 points July 16 to July 20, 51 percent to 38 percent, but by Aug. 28 to Sept. 1, the lead in the polls was down to just 3 points: 48 percent to 45 percent. That’s a lot of volatility, but in each instance, the President’s standing has improved from either being tied or behind, to leading or effectively tied. And that’s just in Florida as a similar story emerges in other battleground states. What do you think will happen this November?

The U.S. economy added another 3.7 million jobs in the month of August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ household survey of Americans reporting they have jobs, bringing the total up to 13.8 million jobs that have been recovered since labor markets bottomed in April, something almost nobody but President Donald Trump was predicting. The news comes as COVID-19 cases continue to stabilize nationwide. At the worst of the coronavirus recession, as many as 25 million jobs were lost by April, and now more than half of those jobs have been regained, as a V-shaped recovery has formed. For perspective, in the Obama-Biden economy, it took almost five years to recover the 8 million jobs that were lost in the financial crisis and Great Recession. In just four short months, well more than 12 million jobs have come back in the Trump-Pence economy — thanks to President Trump’s leadership to stabilize the pandemic and get the U.S. economy safely reopened for business. President Donald Trump has renewed his warning to Oregon Democratic Governor Kate Brown and Portland Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler that if they will not get political violence in Portland, Oreg. under control soon, he will have no other choice but to federalize the National Guard to restore civil order in the city. “Portland is a mess, and it has been for many years. If this joke of a mayor doesn’t clean it up, we will go in and do it for them!” the President wrote on Twitter. The siege of the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse by Antifa and other violent rioters has been going on for more than three months now in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. U.S. Marshals and other federal law enforcement have been needed to keep the building from being burnt to the ground. On Aug. 30 the violence turned deadly when Aaron Danielson, a member of the Patriot Prayer group that often clashes with Antifa in Portland, was shot dead on the streets in an unprovoked attack. The killer remains at large. The President’s call for Oregon to bring in the National Guard followed Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers agreeing to bring in the National Guard following the Kenosha shootings of Jacob Blake by police officer Rusten Sheskey on Aug. 23, and Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum by Kyle Rittenhouse on Aug. 25. The escalation we are witnessing should be incredibly chilling to the American people, a demonstration of what happens when riots taking place across the country are allowed to continue unabated. Now, armed citizens are hitting the streets and taking matters into their own hands — with deadly results. Is anyone surprised? Portland is a powder keg and has been a hotbed for violence by Antifa and other groups for years. And it will only get worse until authorities can remove the political violence from the streets. President Donald Trump appears to be pulling ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden in the battleground, rust belt states of Michigan and Wisconsin, according to two polls by the Trafalgar Group, the polling firm that correctly called the 2016 election for Trump in the battleground states of Michigan and Pennsylvania. In the latest polls, in Michigan, Trump leads Biden, 46.6 percent to 45.2 percent, and in Wisconsin, the lead is 46.2 percent to 45.4 percent. Both polls were taken from Aug. 14 to Aug. 23. Michigan factors prominently into Trump’s message on trade, as he ended NAFTA with the renegotiated USMCA and levied heavy tariffs against China — a key message for the union households there that helped Trump win in 2016. His opponent, Biden, voted for NAFTA and permanent normal trade relations with China, a country that uses child and forced slave labor in its factories.As for Wisconsin, which Trump won in 2016, an additional factor to consider are the riots in the wake of the Kenosha shootings of Jacob Blake by police officer Rusten Sheskey on Aug. 23, and Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum by Kyle Rittenhouse on Aug. 25. In a stunning turn of events, Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers agreed to deploy the National Guard to respond to the state of emergency. And it apparently worked. President Trump reported on Twitter on Aug. 28: “Success: Since the National Guard moved into Kenosha, Wisconsin, two days ago, there has been NO FURTHER VIOLENCE, not even a small problem. When legally asked to help by local authorities, the Federal Government will act and quickly succeed. Are you listening Portland?” That could have a major impact on November, with Trump’s law and order message taking hold in the Midwest. Overall, the poll results could show the President beginning to exert his incumbency advantage in an environment where Biden has been reluctant to campaign amid COVID-19 health concerns. President Donald Trump has once again accepted the Republican nomination for President with the promise to fully reopen America as 2.9 million Americans have left continued unemployment claims in the past month, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As of July 18, on an unadjusted basis, 16.8 million Americans were on unemployment, but as of Aug. 15, that number was down to 13.9 million, according to the Department of Labor, a dramatic shift of 2.9 million back into the labor force as states reopen in the aftermath of the spring lockdown response to the COVID-19 pandemic. That should build upon the 10.1 million jobs that have been recovered since labor markets bottomed in April, according to the Bureau of labor Statistics’ household survey, with the Sept. 4 unemployment report due out, in what can only be called a miraculous turnaround that few but President Trump saw coming. President Trump predicted the rapid recovery now underway, where now the Atlanta Federal Reserve is projecting a more than 25 percent expansion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter. How about that?
