CNN’s medical analyst Leana Wen is calling for an end to government mask mandates. With today’s Americans for limited government minute, I’m Catherine mortensen. Listen for yourself if you are having a hard time believing this!

“The responsibility should shift from a government mandate imposed from the state or a local district on the school, rather it should shift to individual responsibility by family who can still decide that their child can wear a mask. We should be intellectually honest and say that masking has had a cost especially on our youngest learners, people with English as a second language, children with learning disabilities. There has been a cost to them.”

Wen claims the science has changed. We wonder if it is just the polling that has changed! In either case, let’s hope we are making progress in ending the ineffective mask mandates. We must end big government tyranny.

According to The Federalist, the inspector general for the U.S. Capitol Police has opened a formal investigation into whether the law enforcement agency tasked with securing the Capitol has been inappropriately surveilling elected members of Congress, their staff, and visitors to their offices.

The ratings at scandal-ridden CNN have collapsed over the past twelve months – with the once venerable network losing ninety percent of its viewers. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Media critic Joe Concha tells Fox News:

“From a business perspective, they have lost ninety percent of their audience when compared to this same time last year. Imagine that. Ten people are in a room, they are watching CNN one year ago. Nine have left the room. So busines is horrible. It has no leader. This is the state of CNN at this point, which has no credibility and certainly is not the network that I watched growing up during the two Gulf Wars where their reporting and their objectivity was something to behold. It was a great network. Now it is a shell of itself. It has collapsed.”
Two CNN producers have recently been ousted from the network after being swept up in separate criminal investigations involving alleged sex crimes with minors.
Meanwhile, CNN’s chief legal analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, returned to the network last June following a lengthy absence from his Zoom masturbation scandal in 2020.

Over the past two months, the BLS establishment survey has shown gains of 1 million new jobs, but it is coming at the same time as red-hot 7 percent inflation, a collapsing 10-year, 2-year yield, 5.7 percent economic growth in 2021, and yet a projected GDP growth by the Atlanta Fed of just 0.1 percent for the first quarter, indicating the U.S. economy is headed into stormy waters.

All Americans should hope that the establishment jobs gains will be sustained, but any prudent person should know that no business cycle lasts forever, and right now, some of the signs point to an economy that is overheating. At this juncture, it is almost guaranteed the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates next month, and the only question is by how much.
