The Mendacity of Gloom

The good news is that Joe Btfsplk is alive and well.

The bad news is that he now resides in the Oval Office.

Barack “Btfsplk” Obama is a man who has made a career out of spreading doom and gloom. Doom, gloom, and Marxist ideology — which, when one thinks about it, is all pretty much the same, isn’t it? After all, it’s really not a far stretch from Karl Marx’s “All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned …” to Barack Obama’s “[o]ur nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse.”

And why would anyone expect anything else from this time-bound child of deprivation? Mr. Obama was spawned and inspired by a misfit mother who even as a high school student (long before abandoning her only son to his hard pressed grandparents) fixated on Marxist ideology. As the Seattle Times explained:

“One respite (from Americans Stanley Ann Dunham looked down on) was found in a wing of Mercer Island High called “anarchy alley.” Jim Wichterman [one of the young Ms. Dunham’s favorite instructors] taught a wide-open philosophy course that included Karl Marx.”

When said grandparents deserted provincial Kansas for Hawaii, Ms. Dunham’s impressionable son chose to sit at the feet of a particularly virulent Marxist poet by the name of Frank Marshall Davis. In Obama’s memoirs, he describes Mr. Davis (whom he affectionately refers to simply as “Frank”) as a decisive influence in helping him find his identity.

And what identity did Mr. Davis help young Btfsplk find? Here, from a poem entitled “To the Red Army,” is a typical sampling:

“Drive on, oh mighty people’s juggernaut!
    Hear in your winning ears
Shadow songs of your departed comrades
Telling you, “Be avengers and kill our killers
And when you have struck the last foe to the ground
Then drop their fascist dreams below hell!”

Hardly the stuff of hope and healing.

Leaving Hawaii, Btfsplk arrived in Chicago, where he would seek to inspire his own young minions at the University of Chicago Law School and eventually emigrate into politics. And how did the “senior lecturer” (he was never a full professor, as he later claimed) choose to teach his own impressionable students? In a word: Lynching.

This from a July 30, 2008, New York Times article by a fawning Jodi Kantor:

“Mr. Obama was especially eager for his charges to understand the horrors of the past, students say. He assigned a 1919 catalog of lynching victims, including some who were first raped or stripped of their ears and fingers, others who were pregnant or lynched with their children, and some whose charred bodies were sold off, bone fragment by bone fragment, to gawkers…”

“He assigned a 1919 catalogue of lynching victims …” So, here you have the man of hope rummaging through the arcane stacks of dusty, musty libraries manically seeking out the most depressing, distressing tomes he can find on the darkest chapter of American history. A man “especially eager” to teach this to the children in his charge. One can almost hear the refrain echoing in his sullen mind, “Be avengers and kill our killers.”

And now, he occupies the Oval Office.

When not instructing students on the lost art of selling off bone fragments, Btfsplk was sitting at the feet of one Alice Palmer, a disgruntled member of the Illinois State Senate who took great pride in assailing the United States from her perch as a contributor to the People’s Weekly World, a house organ for the Communist Party, USA. And Sen. Palmer, when not writing for the Weekly World, was introducing her “chosen successor” at house parties hosted by Marxist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

A glowering Btfsplk, not surprisingly, responded to Ms. Palmer’s warm embrace by betraying her trust and having her tossed out of politics on her ear. Which suggests a little about his concept of “change.”

The rest, of course, is history. Or, at least history in the making. Now, Barack Obama’s chief role seems to be that of manufacturing one crisis after another. And systematically deepening those that fall into his lap. As his mentor, and chief White House aide, advised, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”

Bill Clinton, playing Senator Jack S. Phogbound to Obama’s Btfsplk, has urged the new President to lighten up a bit and occasionally spread a little sunshine. But, don’t count on it. Barack “Btfsplk” Obama has lived his entire life under a Marxist cloud. And he won’t be satisfied until he rains on capitalism’s parade once and for all.
