Jill Stein finally has something to be happy about, after losing the presidential election, Stein began inquiring about national voter fraud — an issue Democrats have ignored for years. While Stein might never find enough votes to win the presidency, President Donald Trump has taken on the issue and signed an executive order to review and ultimately to end and prevent fraudulent voting.
The executive order entitled, “Establishment of Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity” creates a commission led by Vice President Mike Pence, and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, which will “study the registration and voting processes used in Federal elections.”
The order states, “The Commission shall be solely advisory and shall submit a report to the President that identifies the following: those laws, rules, policies, activities, strategies, and practices that enhance the American people’s confidence in the integrity of the voting processes used in Federal elections; those …that undermine the American people’s confidence in the integrity of the voting processes used in Federal elections; and those vulnerabilities in voting systems and practices used for Federal elections that could lead to improper voter registrations and improper voting, including fraudulent voter registrations and fraudulent voting.”
While Democrats continue to claim that voter fraud does not exist, research continuously proves that it is extremely possible. A study by the Pew Center found that prior to the 2012 election approximately one in eight voter registrations were no longer valid or significantly inaccurate. That did not include the 1.8 million deceased individuals on voting rolls or the 2.75 million people registered to vote in more than one state.
The executive order seeks to restore trust in American democracy with its foundation of one person one vote. By clarifying the voter rolls across the country, Trump will simplify and legitimize our entire election process — and that the law applies everyone equally.
This will also have a significant impact on states like Virginia, where illegal immigrants have been known to cast votes despite their lack of citizenship.
The Public Interest Legal group found that without a uniform system to detect illegal immigrants, it has become notably easy for them to vote. In a small sample of just eight Virginia counties, the group discovered over 1,000 illegal immigrants registered to vote; a felony offense that has gone ignored.
Luckily, Kobach himself has already taken a strong stance on the matter, and played a vital role in bringing this issue to the forefront of the political debate.
Kobach created the Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck Program as a voluntary program for states to join in order to determine if voters are registered in multiple states. While this has greatly assisted the 35 states who have opted into the program, the remaining 15 unprotected states are susceptible to voter fraud. The “Kansas Project”, as it is called, has already been able to send deliberate cases of double voting over to the FBI for investigation.
Now that Kobach and Vice President Pence will be leading the Commission, these efforts will finally be applied nationally. One person, one vote is a basic principle of American democracy, and these votes must come from our citizens. The President’s executive order is a great step in restoring American faith in their elections, a win for the American people and, yes, even Jill Stein.
