Former DOJ employee Allison Hrabar deserved to be fired and is lying about her Gofundme

By Natalia Castro

Allison Hrabar was caught on camera bragging about deliberately slowing down her agency functions in order to resist the Trump agenda “from the inside”. The result of this video was the prompt termination of Hrabar’s employment. Now, she is using false claims and inaccurate information to levy liberal guilt into funding her crusade against the Trump administration. Hrabar is not just a poor performing government employee and a socialist, she is guilty of fraud.

On Hrabar’s Gofundme page entitled, “Activist Fired for Protesting Trump,” Hrabar claims she was fired from her job in the Department of Justice Antitrust Division in “in retaliation for confronting DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at dinner in June.”

Hrabar explains on the plea for funds, “I was investigated for speaking up that night, but an internal inquiry cleared me of misconduct. A Hatch Act complaint was filed, but the office of special counsel cleared me of any violations… I don’t regret standing up for immigrants unable to advocate for themselves. My only concern is that the Assistant Attorney General’s decision to force me out of a job has left me without insurance to cover my high medical costs, and without an income to cover the legal fees needed to fight back. I will use the money raised to cover my doctor appointments, rent, and other incidental costs (including possible a possible retainer) over the next few months.”

Unfortunately for Hrabar’s sob story, this is not why she was fired.

Hrabar’s Go Fund Me page neglects to mention that she was only fired after Project Veritas released a video in which Hrabar discusses using government research accounts to target individuals for protests for the Democratic Socialists of America.

Hrabar describes a pervasive network across the federal government working to disrupt Trump’s agenda. In the video, she noted, “There’s a lot of talk at work about like how we can resist from the inside… We have a member who works for the people who distribute food stamps, and they can like take that away, and they’re slowing what they do… what they’re doing means that people are going to be able to stay on food stamps for another month or two, which is like really important.”

Hrabar also explained how she waits until the last possible day, often the last ten minutes of the day, to submit merger forms she disagrees with. Her stated purpose for this is to put a dent in “company profits.”

As I explained to the Go Fund Me reporting page, which allows users to report fundraisers based on inaccurate or misleading information, “Hrabar claims she was fired for confronting the DHS Secretary for separating families. This is untrue. In fact, she was not fired until months later when a video emerged of her admitting to using government resources to find private information about political opponents to protest on behalf of the Democratic Socialists of American.  This is a violation of the Hatch Act which dictates that government employees cannot pursue political aims at work… Days after the video was released an investigation was launched and she was dismissed… Hrabar is claiming to have been fired for her protest against the Secretary in order to illicit support from liberal activists against child separations, this is fraud.”

Within 24 hours, Hrabar has raised $10,745 for what appears to be a false claim.

This appears to violate U.S. law, specifically, 18 U.S. Code § 1343 – Fraud by wire, radio, or television which clearly states, “Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, transmits or causes to be transmitted by means of wire, radio, or television communication in interstate or foreign commerce, any writings, signs, signals, pictures, or sounds for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.”

While Hrabar’s actions against Kirstjen Nielsen were ridiculous and undemocratic, they were not illegal. What is illegal, is using government resources to track down other targets of her socialist protests. It is even more illegal to claim you were fired for one thing, while completely neglecting to mention the real reason you were fired, and using that as a way to raise money for personal gain. Hrabar has terrorized hard working Americans and subverted our democratic process, she does not deserve a Gofundme campaign, she deserved to be fired.
