The History of America’s Limited Government looks at the case of Alger Hiss and how it catapulted a relatively young Richard Nixon into the vice-presidency. Hiss was accused of being a Soviet spy and passing classified government documents to the Soviets during the 1930s. Nixon took the case seriously and it landed Hiss behind bars.
