Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary laughed at the idea of encouraging more domestic oil production to blunt high gasoline prices. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Check out what former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm told Bloomberg News:

“In Sturgis, Michigan, it is $2.89 a gallon. I guess that is better than in California. What is the Granholm plan to increase oil production in America?

Granholm laughs.
“Oh my goodness, that is hilarious. Would that I had the magic wand on this. As you know, of course, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel. That cartel is called OPEC and they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase beyond what they were already planning.”

On top of that, Granholm is considering shutting down a critical oil pipeline in Michigan. That would drive up home heating costs even further this winter. Biden’s reckless no-energy policies are hurting Americans.

“On the election, I actually think we have good news, as well. I know that Virginia was a huge bummer, and honestly, if anything, I think that the results show the limits of trying to run a fully, 100 percent super moderated campaign that does not excite, speak to, or energize a progressive base and frankly, we weren’t even invited to contribute on that race.”

The question now is which wing of the party will prevail in the short term – will the AOC wing get their massive socialist spending bill passed or will the more mainstream Democrats reject it – fearing a vote for the progressive agenda could cost them their seat in next year’s midterm elections?

The credit for the Republican victory in Virginia goes to parents across the commonwealth who fought back against woke school boards – and a candidate who listened. Asra Namoni – a Fairfax County parent describes herself as a liberal, immigrant Muslim who voted republican to send a message that parents matter.

“I’m getting messages from Oregon to Maine where parents are just so happy about this. It’s because they feel like they have finally been heard and I want to tell all the mamma bears and pappa bears out there that you can do this in your school district, you can do this in your state, you can take it back.”

Democrats remain weirdly fixated on COVID as top concern – the rest of Americans are more worried about the rising cost of food and gas. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. This is the finding of a new poll which shows Democrats can’t seem to shake the fear of COVID. Where is this coming from? Comedian Bill Mahr recently cited a separate poll in the New York Times showing how WRONG Democrats are about the basic facts surrounding COVID.
Bill Mahr: “What do you think the chances are that you would have to go to the hospital if you got COVID ? Democrats thought that was way higher than republicans. The answer is between one and five percent okay. Forty-one percent of Democrats thought it was over 50 percent another 28 percent thought it was 20 to 49 percent chance. So, 70 percent of Democrats thought it was way way way higher than it really was. Liberal media has to take a little responsibility for that for scaring the s*it out of people.”
