Kansas Senator Roger Marshall succeeded in amending the National defense Authorization Act for twenty-twenty-two to prevent the Biden administration from dishonorably discharging servicemembers for choosing to not get the COVID vaccine. A dishonorably discharged servicemember loses their access to all VA health benefits, GI bill money, VA home loans, and even their right to own a firearm.

“So this would be a huge hit to our veterans. I don’t know why this White House wants to give soldiers who did not sign up for this with this in mind, when they separate them, why they want to force them with a dishonorable discharge. We want to make sure they get an honorable discharge despite this situation.”
Simply put, a dishonorable discharge treats our heroes as felons. But, our American heroes deserve better. Senator Marshall has been leading the fight in the Senate to stop Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates.

Democrats say they have a plan to raise the debt ceiling without Republicans. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The House voted earlier this week to raise the debt ceiling — over Republican objections. Here’s Representative Jason Smith of Missouri:

“We have been clear from the very beginning if Democrats are going to pursue a partisan agenda that adds trillions to the debt, they can find the votes to raise the debt limit themselves. Republicans will not cosign a loan to enact a radical socialist agenda.”
But one House Republican DID vote to raise the debt ceiling – Adam Kinzinger of Illinois who two months ago announced he is retiring. In the Senate the vote to raise the debt ceiling is tied to a bill that would protect Medicare from cuts — it’s putting Republicans in between a rock and a hard place. The procedural vote will happen this week and the actual vote to raise the debt ceiling is expected next week.

Tucked inside the Build Back Broke spending bill is a massive tax break for millionaires. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The Democrats claim their spending bill would help middle class Americans — when in fact, it’s a massive tax break for wealthy elites. Senator Rob Portman explains:

“Millionaires, those making over a million dollars a year, are going to get a big tax break here. Almost 70 percent of millionaires are going to get a significant tax cut under this legislation. Those between five-hundred thousand and a million dollars, ninety percent of them are going to get a tax cut under this legislation. However, if you’re making thirty thousand bucks a year, only thirty percent will get a tax cut and only in the first year. In the second year it goes to 12 percent, in the third year it goes to ten percent and then down into single digits.”
And the eighty-thousand new IRS agents this bill would fund — they’ll be auditing small businesses and the middle class — not the corporate elite and millionaires.

America was built on a series of compromises, but at least one Member of Congress says compromise is no longer possible with the Left. Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio told Newsmax TV that in the past decade the left has become so radicalized they only deal in the politics of personal destruction and not policy and ideas.

“but what concerns me most is this is an attack on the Constitution. This is an attack on the First Amendment because today’s left, no longer do they believe in the First Amendment, ‘let’s have a debate, you make my argument and I’ll make my argument and we’ll see which policy, which argument carries the day.’ No longer do they do that. Today, ‘it is, if you don’t do that,’ the left says, ‘you aren’t allowed to speak if you don’t agree with me.’ And if you do, they will call you a racist.”

Jordan says all conservatives can do is just try to stop their crazy policies.
