To try to answer that question, a group of Democrat women political strategists gathered for a dinner last month in D.C. According to Axios news the group was comprised of former Hillary Clinton and Obama advisors. No one from Harris’ office was present for the dinner but “Harris confidant Minyon Moore” attended, according to the report. The group discussed best practices for fighting back against negative perceptions of Harris, as she has suffered a series of political setbacks in the first six months of the Biden presidency. The group also complained that coverage of Harris reminded them of the coverage of Hillary Clinton which they perceived as sexist.
Polls show Harris as the least popular vice president in modern history.

Is America more prosperous and more secure under the Biden Presidency ? With the Americans for Limited Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The answer is a resounding NO. Biden’s policies are continuing to create chaos and confusion at the border – leaving many Americans worried about their personal safety. And his never-ending spending is leading to inflation. That’s according to a bombshell report from Spectator news. According to the report, a New York Times reporter said in that in early 2020 he was told it was dangerous to run a piece about the origins of the coronavirus. There was resistance to running anything that could suggest that [COVID-19 was manmade or had leaked accidentally from a lab]. ‘It was considered a conspiracy theory,’ confirms a second Times insider. ‘ The fact that Trump embraced it also made it a no-go.’ In the years before COVID, revenue from China was an integral part of the Times’s business model. The paper received millions of dollars from Chinese government-controlled outlets and published ‘advertorials’ pushing the Chinese government’s line. President Biden just blew off the Supreme Court! With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Just two months ago the Court ruled that the Centers for Disease Control could not unilaterally extend the eviction moratorium. The Court said that would require – quote – clear and specific congressional authorization. Congress didn’t give it. But progressive Democrats pressured Biden into defying the court. So, the CDC issued a new moratorium giving renters another two months to come up with the rent money. Biden even admits it is just a way to buy additional time until the court strikes it down again! I don’t want people thrown out on the street. But I also don’t want landlords to get stiffed. There are millions of mom-and-pop landlords who own a house here, a duplex there, a small apartment building two streets down. A guest columnist for the New York Times claims there is no good reason you should have to be a citizen to vote. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The column is part of a series exploring – quote – bold ideas to revitalize and renew the American experiment. Atossa Araxia Abrahamian wants to grant permanent legal residents the right to vote because she said they contribute as much to the country as any natural-born citizen. Abrahamian writes that people with green cards, work visas, and those who arrived in the country as children and are still waiting for permanent papers should all be able to vote. But voting is a privilege tied to citizenship. I’ve seen the citizenship documents of one of my ancestors who came here from Austria. As a condition for becoming a U.S. citizen he had to renounce allegiance to the Austrian emperor. And he did. The U.S. government’s inconsistent public messaging on the coronavirus has hit a new low. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The CDC’s latest backtracking follows a pattern of misleading and incoherent government health guidance that has led to a general erosion of trust in the CDC. The U.S. government performed amazingly well in some areas. Operation Warp Speed will be studied for generations as a model for quick mobilization and deployment of emergency vaccines. The vaccines are amazingly effective and have essentially ended the pandemic for Americans willing to take them. But due to a lack of trust in national institutions, many Americans don’t want to take the vaccines. The CDC’s recent flip-flop, is just going to further erode people’s confidence in the vaccines. The reality is those who have been vaccinated are very safe from COVID-19. Deaths from COVID-19 have plummeted, and nearly all are among those not vaccinated and in higher-risk groups. The message is simple: liberty matters. Every American citizen, regardless of the allegations against them, is entitled to due process under the law and humane treatment while jailed.Rather than ducking controversy, these members of Congress shined a light on allegations of abuse of the Jan. 6th prisoners. They are seeking to ensure humane conditions for all prisoners in the DC jail. Defense attorneys have told lawmakers that these prisoners have been subjected to solitary confinement under conditions that are antithetical to the core values of the American system of justice.
As American citizens, Jan. 6th prisoners are presumed innocent until proven guilty.The public employees who operate the DC Jail could have easily assuaged concerns of prisoner mistreatment by opening their doors to members of Congress who have oversight over their budget. Instead, they demanded the members leave the public lobby and accused them of trespassing. When the ‘supervisor’ came out to meet with the members, she met them outside and proceeded to turn heel and leave, locking the door behind her.If the DC Jail had nothing to hide, it is reasonable to ask, why they worked so hard to avoid any transparency whatsoever?
If prisoners who have not been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony are not being abused, the behavior of those who run this jail gave credence to every concern about what is happening under their watch. Enough is enough.Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has judicial oversight authority over the District of Columbia and it is time for him to demand answers. There is no excuse for Justice Roberts to remain silent.
If those prisoners are being denied their due process rights, then no one else’s rights are safe, either.Americans owe a debt of gratitude to Reps Gohmert, Taylor Green, Good and Gaetz, along with Paul Gosar who has been the point of the spear on this issue. The only question is where were the other 430 Members of Congress?
Every single member of Congress has sworn an oath to the Constitution that says under the American system of justice, a person is innocent until proven guilty. Every member should be demanding that basic standard be met.In writing the Constitution, our Founding Fathers were absolutely genius. Instead of a state in which the government ruled over the people, they created a state in which the people rule over the government. This was a radical break with every other construct of government in history. We have lasted for more than 240 because of the balance of power that protects our underlying individual liberties. Unfortunately, today many in Congress want to tear that government down and tear down the Constitution because they view it as an evil document.The question is not whether the Jan. 6th political prisoners should be released, but they must have due process rights and to deny them those rights because of political reasons is an affront to our basic constitutional liberties and it is wrong.As Americans we should demand more of our members of Congress. Every single one of them ought to be fighting for the due process rights of the Jan. 6th prisoners.
