Audit reveals BIG problems in Fulton County Georgia elections department. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The county auditor found major failures of administration, financial management, and security — revelations that come amid intense scrutiny of the county’s handling of the 2020 election. There was a host of irregularities in the county’s conduct of November’s presidential contest, including an unresolved mystery over unsupervised vote counting at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. In the audit, the investigators found numerous issues with the county’s administration of its elections department, including a “lack of departmental standard operating procedures” as well as what appeared to be a major security lapse in the county’s handling of sensitive election equipment. Meanwhile, a watchdog contractor documented in a lengthy series of memos what he said were major security concerns regarding the county’s handling of its massive absentee ballot counting operation. The U.S. Senate passes an amendment preventing federal funds from promoting Critical Race Theory in schools. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The senate passed Senator Tom Cotton’s amendment to the budget reconciliation package by a fifty to forty-nine vote. CRT is a Marxist construct developed in the nineteen-seventies and eighties. It promotes the idea that racism is systemic in the nation’s institutions and that they function to maintain the dominance of white people in society. Senator Cotton – who posted a video of himself addressing the senate chamber – said that he was raised to believe that the U.S. is a great nation and called CRT an un-American ideology. The Left wants to teach our children that America is not a good nation, but a racist nation. President Joe Biden has now revealed there is at least one area in which he is a fiscal conservative. Border security. With today’s Americans for Limited Government minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The Biden administration has presented Congress with a Department of Homeland Security budget that calls for slashing spending on what it calls “Border Security Assets and Infrastructure” by ninety-six percent. Biden wants to cut Integrated Fixed Towers; Remote Video Surveillance Systems; Mobile Video Surveillance System; and the Border Wall System Program. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas discussed his department’s budget request in the Senate Homeland Security Committee. He admitted there is no request for additional border wall construction. To which Senator Rob Portman of Ohio expressed incredulity. Quote – “You’re not providing yourself with the tools you need to be able to allow the Border Patrol to do their job.” He is right. Biden will not secure the border.
