Beto – who has lost his last two elections – one for the Democratic nomination for President, the other for a Texas Senate seat recently announced he is running to unseat Texas Governor Greg Abbot. Nationwide, polls show Democrats are losing the support of Hispanic voters.

Good news! Freedom and liberty are making a comeback in America! We see evidence everywhere that Americans are embracing the values of limited government and maximum freedom.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has broken the record for the longest speech on the floor of the House of Representatives after speaking for more than eight hours. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The Republican began speaking on the House floor at eight-thirty-eight p.m. Thursday and, a little hoarse at times, broke the record at four-forty-six Friday morning. McCarthy spoke for another 25 minutes – wrapping up shortly after five am.

“This evening showed that no matter the time, the day, or the circumstances, House Republicans will always fight for you, fight for your family, and fight for our country. With that, Madam Speaker, I yield back. [clapping].”

The final vote showed a bi-partisan rejection of the massive spending bill with one Democrat joining every Republican in voting against it. The bill now heads to the Senate where it faces an uncertain future.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered a blistering critique of President Joe Biden and his authoritarian policies, warning Americans they need to fight against the radical left to preserve our freedom. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Speaking to supporters of The Heritage Foundation DeSantis took aim at Biden’s recently announced COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

“I resolved in the state of Florida we would be a free state. We would not descend into a Faucian dystopia in which people’s freedoms were curtailed and their livelihoods were ruined. We chose freedom over Faucism and we’re better off for it. In fact, you will never see this on the media, for the last several weeks, Florida has had the lowest COVID rates in the nation!”

In closing, DeSantis warned, If the federal government can get away with this, they’re going to be able to get away with a lot more.

The recent surge in fentanyl seizures shows cartels are taking advantage of President Biden’s lax border policies, according to Department of Homeland Security officials.

Senator Mike Lee – Republican of Utah – has introduced 12 bills that would protect Americans from Covid mandates and empower them with information about the vaccine – all 12 have been REJECTED. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

“Deep down they know that something is terribly wrong whenever one person and with the stroke of the executive pen can issue so broad, so deep, and so immoral a mandate. I’m not going to stand for this. I’ll be back. I’ll be back tomorrow. I’ll be back the next day. I’ll be back as often as it takes, as long as it takes. I’m not going to stop until we win this fight.”

Following a federal appeals court ruling putting a hold on Biden’s unconstitutional mandates, OSHA has suspended all enforcement. At least 27 U.S. states, as well as private employers, religious organizations, and other groups, have sued the Biden administration, claiming that it’s exceeding its authority in issuing the mandate.
