Thousands of immigrants who have crossed into the U.S. illegally are being bused from a station in McAllen, Texas to your part of the country. We take you there as a DHS bus unloads them at the respite center and then private buses take them to different parts of the country!
EXPOSED: Biden’s wasteful border wall spending is costing taxpayers billions!
In this report, a US senator from Oklahoma outlines the amount of waste surrounding the frozen Trump-era border wall project: https://www.lankford.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/GOBM%20Interim%20Report%20on%20Border%20Wall.pdf
Master of Disaster!
Joe Biden is proving to be a master of disaster. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Biden’s presidency feels like Jimmy Carter all over again. When it comes to energy, a chief issue of Carter’s presidency, Biden has already overseen a sea change that harmed the industry. The president’s day one hatchet job on the planned Keystone XL Pipeline left thousands reeling as their jobs evaporated at the stroke of a pen. When the Biden administration also put forth a plan to freeze drilling permits on federal land for at least the first year of his term, American energy independence seemed to slip away. Biden insisted on keeping extra unemployment benefits in his American Rescue Plan, even as the economy struggled to rebound. This has contributed to disappointing unemployment numbers. The result has been an economy that is more sluggish than expected — while prices at the pump and in the grocery stores continue to rise — all of which have raised the specter of stagflation not seen since Carter’s presidency. Burnout from Too Many Meetings
Meeting burnout got worse in the pandemic and back to the office hybrid schedules could make things even messier. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. We are deep in the age of the never-ending check-in. Meetings have gotten shorter during the pandemic, according to researchers, with one paper finding the average length dropped 20% in spring 2020. But meetings are multiplying. There’s the 25-minute client touch-base, the general life catch-up with your manager, the bite-size performance feedback session, the meeting to prep for the meeting. We were already on the road to meeting burnout before the pandemic. A shift from hierarchical organizations to de-layered ones means more bosses and teams to coordinate with. Increasingly global business means invites for times when we’d normally be in bed. Constant check-ins have become some bosses’ version of micromanaging, a way to keep tabs on workers they don’t trust. Perhaps it is time for Americans to get on with business. Return to the office and quit all the whining! For more check us out at the DailyTorch.com

Making Freedom Out of Lemons
New legislation allows Illinois kids to run lemonade stands without government permits. With today’s Americans for Limited Government minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law that ensures children younger than 16 can operate a lemonade stand without first getting government permission. Hayli’s Law, was filed by state Sen. Patrick Joyce after 11-year-old Hayli Martenez of Kankakee had her lemonade stand shut down by the local health department due to lack of running water. Hayli started “Haylibug Lemonade” back in 2017 to raise money for her college fund. Her stand was a hit! In a short time, county health department officials visited the 11-year-old and told her to shut down the stand or face fines because the house she lived in did not have running water. The new law will make it easier for kids to learn about entrepreneurship and responsibility and save for college. The government should never put up hurdles to the dreams of young Americans. Innovation Boom for Middle America
Venture Capitalist Steve Case writes in the Wall Street Journal that the post-pandemic economic shifts will help middle America boom. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Case notes that as tech workers move to cities such as Phoenix, Salt Lake and Tulsa, many likely won’t work on the same kinds of projects that dominated their time when they were ensconced in their hubs in San Francisco and Cambridge. Entrepreneurs who previously worked in tech bubbles will suddenly be exposed to a wider range of real-world challenges that they likely would never have encountered without the pandemic. Case believes the geographic diffusion of tech will change the industry to its very core. He says the magic of innovation emerges when people from different places weave their respective wisdom together. The best economic news is that tomorrow’s startups are poised to tackle challenges that, until recently, have been overlooked. And they’ll do it increasingly from places that have also been overlooked. For more check us out at the DailyTorch.com

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert leads the fight for limited government in Washington
Americans for Limited Government sat down for an exclusive interview with Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) to talk about three hot button issues that she is showing leadership on:
President Biden’s dereliction of duty at the Southern border
Biden’s unemployment bonus
Critical Race Theory
If We Were Just More Like Cuba
The founder of the racially charged slave-focused sixteen-nineteen project – says Cuba is the model for racial equality. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The sixteen-nineteen project is a New York Times initiative that helped inspire the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools. Founder Nikole Hannah-Jones gave an interview with Vox news in which she claimed Cuba had the “least inequality between black and white people. “In places that are truly bi-racial, Cuba has the least inequality and that is largely due to socialism, which I am sure no one wants to hear.” She’s right about that last part. We all know what equality looks like under socialism in Cuba – blacks and whites are equally indigent and miserable. Hannah-Jones has also praised the communist revolution for bringing about the “end of codified racism.” So, the cat’s out of the bag. These radicals want to bring communism to our shores. They’re trying to indoctrinate our school children. If you agree we have to stop this madness, check us out at the DailyTorch.com
