A lot of corporate critics of Georgia’s new election integrity law are themselves incorporated in the business-friendly state of Delaware, which has several election provisions similar to, or even stricter, than those in Georgia. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Corporations such as Coca-Cola, Google, Cisco and Delta Airlines have criticized Georgia’s voting law as oppressive and discriminatory, arguing that the law —which includes photo ID requirements and new absentee voting restrictions—are an attempt to stifle the vote. Coke and Delta are headquartered in Georgia, yet they and several of the state’s other critics are legally incorporated in Delaware. Joe Biden’s home state requires voters provide an excuse for voting absentee. “No-excuse” absentee voting is widely championed by progressive activists as a key provision of establishing a system of permanent, mass voting by mail. Georgia’s law allows for “no-excuse” absentee voting. The hypocrisy runs deep for these woke corporations.

New footage released by Project Veritas shows CNN technical director Charles Chester admitting that the network hyped the coronavirus pandemic in order to drive their ratings. With Today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

“COVID? Gangbusters with ratings,” Chester said. “Which is why we constantly have the death toll on the side. Let’s make it higher, like why isn’t it high enough, you know, today? Like it would make our point better if it was higher,” Chester said. “And I’m like, what am I f***ing rallying for? That’s a problem that we’re doing that. You know?”

Explaining why CNN wanted to report a higher coronavirus death toll, Chester said fear drives ratings up because fear keeps you tuned in. For once, CNN tells the truth.

Biden isn’t backing down from his support of the misguided boycott, but when asked if he supports the masters golf tournament pulling out of Georgia, Biden admitted that African Americans in that state are missing out on an estimated 100 million dollars.

Joe Biden said last week, “There’s another side to the other side to it, too, when they in fact, move out of Georgia, the people who need the help the most people making hourly wages, sometimes get hurt the most.”

The president continues to lie about Georgia’s new law. Here are the facts. As voter integrity laws have been enacted in state after state, in two out of the past three presidential elections, all black voter turnout has exceeded white voter turnout in this country. If Republicans are trying to suppress the Black vote, they’re not doing a very good job.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that over the weekend dozens of chief executives gathered on Zoom to plot what big businesses should do next about new voting laws under way in Texas and other states. According to several people who attended the virtual gathering. the former head of American Express and the CEO of Merck urged the leaders to call for greater voting access and asked them to sign a statement opposing what they view as discriminatory legislation on voting. A statement could come early this week that would build on one that 72 black executives signed last month opposing Georgia’s new voter integrity laws. Still, plenty of companies remain wary of wading into politically charged areas. As conservatives we can contact the consumer or stakeholder relations divisions of companies we do business with and urge them to stay out of politics. All we’re asking is for them to be neutral.

Debunking Biden’s bogus jobs numbers! With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. According to Moody’s Analytics Biden’s massive so-called infrastructure bill will help create 18.9 million new jobs by 2030. Sounds great! But wait. The Washington Times points out that if everyone kept their money in their pockets and the federal government did nothing, the economy will create 16.3 million jobs on its own. This leaves a net increase of about 2.6 million jobs.

But the “infrastructure” package costs two-and-a-quarter trillion dollars. Third grade math calculations tell you taxpayers would spend roughly $900,000 per job created. If the jobs pay an average of, say $100,000, then every job is a net negative for the economy. And these are the people who accused Trump of bad math.
And by the way – Moody’s analytics said the Trump tax plan would have no positive effect on the economy.
