As House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pursues a politically driven impeachment of former President Donald Trump, a look back to the not-too-distant past shows Democrats haven’t always taken such a hard line against violent protesters in the halls of government. 10 years ago Pelosi enthusiastically supported a mob of trade unionists, teachers and assorted rabble who crowded the halls of Wisconsin’s state Capitol in Madison in 2011 to protest moves by then-Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to bring conservative values to the Badger State’s government. Throughout the month-long occupation, the liberal mob chanted slogans such as, “This is what democracy looks like and Pelosi tweeted, “I stand with the students & workers of #WI, impressive show of democracy in action. For the House speaker, neither event was a question of principle. They were both about power. And in both cases, Pelosi is choosing the course of action that will benefit the left.

Boo-frickin’-whoo New Mexico. With Today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Oil and gas leaders in New Mexico are raising concerns over President Joe Biden’s recent executive action that put a 60-day pause on new oil and gas leases on federal land. In New Mexico, the industry accounts for nearly one-third of the state’s general fund revenues, and industry officials said even a temporary halt on leasing will hurt the state. New Mexico went big for Biden in the election — stop whining. One industry official says the economy could be in even more trouble if President Biden bans new fracking on federal property – it would wipe out 62,000 jobs in a single year. It’s hard to feel sorry for any of these blue states who will suffer under Biden’s dim bulb energy plans. He’s been a job killer his entire career. What did these people think they were getting when they voted for Biden? As a career politician, he hasn’t created a single job – ever.

CNN Fake News Anchor Jim Acosta predicts Trump will lead a fringe movement now that he is out of the White House. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Acosta said that while Trump is – quote “licking his wounds in Mar-a-Lago, he poses a threat to this country.” 75 million Americans voted for Donald Trump in November –hardly a fringe group. Instead of insulting half the country, perhaps Acosta and his colleagues in the mainstream media should just DO THEIR JOBS. Speaking of which, the Washington Post says it has no plans to keep a database of Joe Biden falsehoods. Meanwhile, ABC News analyst Matthew Dowd says the country must impeach Trump – and punish him – before we can heal. He is comparing the Trump administration to genocidal Nazi Germany and the evils of South African apartheid.

Deprogramming the Left. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Former Today show host Katie Couric is facing a backlash for her recent comments on the Bill Maher show asking – quote – how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump. Seriously? After the Left and the mainstream media spent 3 years challenging the legitimacy of the 2016 president election — EVERY. SINGLE. DAY the media ran stories of the totally baseless conspiracy about Russian collusion. I think those clowns are the ones that need to be deprogrammed. There is FAR more evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election than there ever was of Russian collusion — but the left kept up that fake news narrative and spent 32-million dollars of taxpayer money on the Mueller investigation — only to prove THERE WAS NO COLLUSION. If Katie Couric wants to talk about deprogramming people — she and her friends in the mainstream media should be the first in line.
