A new poll finds only thirty-six percent of young adults are proud of being American. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The Issues & Insights and Tippinsights poll found that young adults ages eighteen to twenty-four are the group least likely to say they are proud to be American. That compares with fifty-nine percent of Americans ages twenty-five to forty-four who says they are proud and seventy five percent of adults ages forty five to sixty four. Nearly nine in ten Americans over age sixty-five say they are proud Americans. Conservatives were also much more proud to be Americans than moderates or liberals; 81% of conservatives said they were proud compared to 66% of moderates and 55% of liberals. These numbers do not bode well for the future of our republic. If the citizens don’t take pride in their country, they will elect leaders like the ones in office today — people who seek to “transform” our country and otherwise dismantle our institutions. The truth about Vice President Kamala Harris’ is not pretty. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. According to a report in Politico, her office is reportedly an “abusive environment” where staffers are “thrown under the bus” when things go wrong. So says 22 current and former staffers who spoke on condition of anonymity. Much of the ire is aimed at Harris’ chief of staff, Tina Flournoy. Flournoy allegedly routinely blames lower-level staffers when initiatives fall through and often ignores input from staff, the sources told Politico “It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported.” A spokesperson for the Biden administration and Harris have pushed back on reports of toxicity within the vice president’s office. As the vice president continues to look for a connection with the American people, like a 20-something on their sixth Tinder date, her increasing separation from the population’s interests adds to the daunting path to 2022 and 2024 that Democratic leadership are set to face. Democrats are demanding that he only sign the bill if they get a second spending bill that includes what they call human infrastructure, that’s money for their middle-class welfare scheme, child care, elder and green energy — a massive expansion of the welfare state. If he signs two bills, Biden has given up absolutely nothing. Quite the opposite, he not only gets everything he wanted. Florida Governor Ron Desantis has signed a law that requires public schools to teach students about citizens’ shared rights under the Constitution and Bill of Rights. DeSantis said that in order to be responsible citizens, our young people need to have a working knowledge of American history and the principles that underly our Constitution and Bill of Rights. DeSantis also wants students to hear the stories of Americans who fled communist or socialist regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua, and Vietnam.
“I think it is important that we get this in the classroom and provide an honest assessment of what this totalitarian ideology has done for the last one hundred years.”

The United Nations human rights chief called on the world to immediately dismantle systemic racism against people of African descent and “make amends” to the oppressed — including reparation payments. Michelle Bachelet, former Chilean socialist president, claims the dehumanisation of people on racial grounds has fed a culture of discrimination and violence against Blacks and said it is time has come to end the practice. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights set out a four-point agenda for change on racial justice and equality, and urged states to implement it without delay. The U.N. has no credibility on human rights. For years it has ignored human rights abuses from China, Syria and North Korea. China has repeatedly sought to block or weaken UN resolutions on civil society, human rights defenders, and peaceful protests, including when they do not directly concern policy and practice in China.
