The overwhelming majority of lawmaking at the federal level no longer takes place in Congress as the Constitution’s framers intended. Instead, the vast majority of the “rulemaking” governing Americans’ day-to-day lives now takes place behind closed doors, deep in the bowels of the administrative state’s sprawling bureaucracy. As the size of the federal bureaucracy ballooned, we were told they were the experts and we had to trust them. But the so-called experts failed us spectacularly during COVID dealing an irreparable blow to the credibility of America’s ruling class. American politics is currently in the throes of a populist moment. That populist moment is characterized by widespread distrust of elites and growing gap between the ruling class and the wishes of the American people. This may not be the best time for Fauci to be out on a publicity tour…. In the immortal words of Anchor Man’s Ron Burgundy: “Brick, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that. You should probably find yourself a safehouse or a relative close-by because you are probably wanted for murder.”

This week the media mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist government touted the country’s “urgent” goal to expand its arsenal of long-range nuclear missiles in anticipation of an “intense showdown” with the US. The editor of the Global Times wrote – quote – As the US strategic containment of China has increasingly intensified, I would like to remind again that we have plenty of urgent tasks, but among the most important ones is to rapidly increase the number of commissioned nuclear warheads, in the Chinese arsenal. The threat comes as President Biden ordered the US intelligence community to take another look at whether the coronavirus leaked from a Chinese lab. As the Biden border crisis continues to worsen, vice president Harris is more worried about protecting her own reputation than protecting American citizens against illegal immigrants. Harris fed CNN a story this week distancing herself from the role of border czar and blaming Republicans for her failures. “And they made it seem as though vice president harris were going to be the new border czar and she was going to be responsible and be the envoy to border and be responsible essentially for all the problems that arise there.”
Not exactly a profile in courage. Harris claims her real job is to understand the “root causes” of migration. For Harris, those include climate change and violence against LGBTQ people.
