The Environmental Protection Agency is waging war against mining all across America. Coal mining jobs are being destroyed at the stroke of a bureaucrat’s pen, open pit copper mining jobs in Alaska – gone – due to an illegal EPA anti-mining edict. Even on the Iron Range, the EPA has tried to obstruct and discourage the creation of good mining jobs.
Yet, Al Franken has chosen to support his elitist Hollywood environmentalist friends by voting on the Senate floor to allow the EPA to continue their power grab that threatens your career and job security.
Franken had the chance to stand with miners against EPA rules designed to destroy coal mining, but he chose to stand with green extremists like Leonardo DiCaprio on the bow of the Titannic as it headed for an icy doom, and not your brethren.
Mining is hard work. It can be dangerous work. And it is proud work.
Tell Al Franken to stand with miners and against the Hollywood elites and the EPA bureaucrats who want to regulate you out of a job.

While veterans were suffering and dying under inadequate care at Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals, what were Obama’s bureaucrats doing? Stealing. And your senator refused to do a thing about it.
From 2010 to 2013, Venita Godfrey-Scott directed employees to use materials and supplies intended for VA medical center to make improvements to her house. Using up to $20,000 worth of materials, she had VA workers build “a deck in her backyard, carpet installation, and various kitchen, bathroom and basement improvements,” according to the U.S. Justice Department. Godfrey-Scott was convicted and sentenced to four years probation, and forced to pay $15,000 restitution.
Elsewhere, Rebecca Wiley, former director of the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was quietly paid $76,006 when she retired last year just one week after Congress began investigating her hospital’s role in nine preventable patient deaths in Augusta and Columbia, according to documents retrieved by the Augusta Chronicle.
This just plain wrong. Our nation’s veterans gave everything to their country, and Obama’s VA let them down while its employees stole money for personal use. Sign the petition and demand your senator finally stand up for veterans!

Why is Jeanne Shaheen taking money from shady lobbyists?
On September 24, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) held a fundraiser at the home of the corrupt lobbyist, Bill Broydrick, who in 1989 pled guilty to giving illegal gifts to politicians. He has also been tied to the “D.C. Madam” prostitution ring, with his phone number appearing on Deborah Jeane Palfrey’s call records.
The fundraiser cost $1,000 per individual or PAC, or $2,500 to sponsor. Checks were made payable to Shaheen for Senate, according to a report by the Daily Caller that obtained an invitation to the event.
This is just wrong. Sign the petition and demand Shaheen return Broydrick’s dirty money immediately!

Can you imagine low-income housing being built in the middle of your neighborhood?
Starting in October 2014, the Obama administration via the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be empowered to force local communities to build evenly distributed neighborhoods based on income.
Left unchecked, the impact of this regulation will be felt nationwide. If your community accepts federal funding, and chances are it does, these federally imposed housing quotas are coming to your neighborhood. This has nothing to do with housing discrimination, which has been illegal since the 1960s. Local rules only determine what can be built where, not who can live in a community, and yet the government believes your neighborhood is “discriminatory” because it has nice homes to live in.
The House of Representatives has already acted, prohibiting implementation of the regulation. Now, it is the Senate’s turn to act. Senator Mike Lee has introduced a bill to stop Obama and HUD from imposing high-density, low-income housing on suburban neighborhoods. Please urge Senator Al Franken to sign the attached pledge, “Defund HUD high-density, low-income income housing quotas” and to support the Lee amendment to preserve local decisions over community development.
