Democrats and Joe Biden don’t intend to give up anything. Biden said he will sign the six hundred billion dollar bill that Republican negotiators agreed to — it deals mostly with spending for things such as roads, and bridges. But …. Democrats are demanding that he only sign the bill if they get a second spending bill that includes what they call human infrastructure, that’s money for their middle-class welfare scheme, child care, elder and green energy — a massive expansion of the welfare state. If he signs two bills, Biden has given up absolutely nothing. Quite the opposite, he not only gets everything he wanted. Florida Governor Ron Desantis has signed a law that requires public schools to teach students about citizens’ shared rights under the Constitution and Bill of Rights. DeSantis said that in order to be responsible citizens, our young people need to have a working knowledge of American history and the principles that underly our Constitution and Bill of Rights. DeSantis also wants students to hear the stories of Americans who fled communist or socialist regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua, and Vietnam.
“I think it is important that we get this in the classroom and provide an honest assessment of what this totalitarian ideology has done for the last one hundred years.”

The United Nations human rights chief called on the world to immediately dismantle systemic racism against people of African descent and “make amends” to the oppressed — including reparation payments. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The U.N. also wants governments to fund, recognize, and support groups like Black Lives Matter. Michelle Bachelet, former Chilean socialist president, claims the dehumanisation of people on racial grounds has fed a culture of discrimination and violence against Blacks and said it is time has come to end the practice. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights set out a four-point agenda for change on racial justice and equality, and urged states to implement it without delay. The U.N. has no credibility on human rights. For years it has ignored human rights abuses from China, Syria and North Korea. China has repeatedly sought to block or weaken UN resolutions on civil society, human rights defenders, and peaceful protests, including when they do not directly concern policy and practice in China. Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, home to the Thunderbirds and the Air Force’s premier test pilot school, is testing a new kind of drag – and it has nothing to do with military preparedness. One of the base clubs recently hosted a drag queen. The event featured “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestants Coco Montrese and Alexis Mateo as well as 2018 Miss Gay Missouri first runner-up. Base officials released a statement saying the event – quote -provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT+ community and ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military. Remember when President Joe Biden’s party was pushing to defund police departments all over the country… apparently that didn’t work out so well for them. Now Biden is calling for states and communities to use unspent Covid relief money to hire more police because of increase in violence over the past 18 months. In 2020 there was a 30 percent year-over-year increase in homicides and an 8 percent increase in gun assaults in large cities. Those numbers continued to rise in the first quarter of 2021. Biden faces a balancing act in laying out his agenda on crime. In an attempt to distance himself from progressives who want to “defund the police” – but not sound too law-and-order-ish, he’s saying we need to “get smart on crime” instead of get tough on crime.
