Honeymoon Over for Biden

The honeymoon is over for President Biden as his approval numbers drop and disapproval numbers spike. With today’s AMERICANS FOR LIMITED GOVERNMENT MINUTE, I’m Catherine Mortensen. As his term progresses, Biden’s approval rating continues trending down at a rate significantly faster than that of his Democrat predecessors. The numbers don’t look good for Joe according to Republican pollster Jim McLaughlin. He we’re seeing right now are approval numbers in the low fifties with only about thirty-two percent of people say they strongly approve of the job he is doing. In the Real Clear Politics average, Biden’s approval rating has drifted down to fifty-two percent as of June 22, which equals his previous low as president. Meanwhile, his current disapproval average has spiked to forty-three percent just shy of his previous high, and up from 36% at the close of his first week in the White House. Among voters’ biggest concerns are inflation and cost of living. That’s going to hurt Joe Biden in the long run. For more check us out at the DailyTorch.com

ALG Supporters Help Defeat Bad Election Bill

Shout out to all our great supporters and followers – you helped defeat the Democrat’s vote rigging bill in the U.S. Senate. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Each week we give you opportunities to easily send your congressman and senator an email on an issue that you care about. If you ever wonder if your emails make a difference — the answer is YES. This week Senators rejected Chuck Schumer’s no-good election bill — the one that sought to give Democrats a permanent electoral advantage. All 50 Republicans stood firm against it — Democrats needed ten of them to cross the aisle to break a filibuster. Collectively, you all send more than twenty-five thousand emails to your senators and congressman urging them to reject HR1, S1, and the latest compromise bill in the Senate. They listened! GREAT WORK! For more issues to speak out on this week, go to getliberty.org. We have links on our home page that make it easy for you to send an email on hot issues to your elected officials in Washington.

ALG Foundation’s Major Moments in Biden-era Border Crisis

It all started with a series of Executive Orders put forth by the new president on inauguration day in January. Since then, ALG Foundation has monitored the border crisis up close. It has been one of the saddest events we could imagine. Now we can’t even do a video shoot without having an apprehension interrupt it! See this string of major moments in the border crisis.

Big Tech Spending Taxpayer $$ in Blue Precincts

A group of House Republicans sent a letter this week to the left-leaning group Center for Tech and Civic Life asking them to explain where the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars they were given during the COVID-19 pandemic went. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The three-hundred -and-fifty million dollars in grant money was supposed to be used to address COVID concerns related to voting. However, GOP lawmakers said less than one percent went to things like masks and other personal protective equipment. Instead, the group spent about 92 percent of YOUR money in overwhelmingly Democrat-leaning precincts. They spent it on things like registering teen voters, automatic voter registration, pay raises and vehicles for their employees, and designing absentee ballots. This is why twelve states so far have either passed or plan to pass legislation prohibiting election officials from accepting private funds. For more check us out at the DailyTorch.com

Woke Law Hurts Colorado Job Seekers

Work from home jobs are the new thing everywhere — except Colorado. with the Rocky Mountain edition of the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. After Colorado adopted a law state mandating employers disclose salaries for open positions, at least 46 national companies are advertising jobs available anywhere in the U.S. but Colorado.

Woke lawmakers hoped the new law would narrow gender wage gaps and provide greater pay transparency for employees. But to avoid having to disclose that information, some employers seeking remote workers nationwide are saying that those living in Colorado need not apply. This has caused a lot of confusion for workers and some back peddling by state officials who say the new law only narrowly applies to companies that already have a work force in the state. The lesson here is simple: go woke, go broke. Big government policies that limit freedom never work out. That’s because free people make better choices for themselves than the government. A.O.C. Loon A.C.: Claims highways are racist

Hear how highways are part of racism in America and why some on the right are actually applauding A.O.C.! But they quickly boo her too. Also, she is going through a loss of “Biden patience.”

Freedom-loving States Rock the Rankings

States that Are Getting it Right and the Ones Getting it Wrong. With today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The new annual report from the American Legislative Exchange Council that rates states on economic climate is out. For the 14th year in a row Utah is at the top of the rankings. That’s because it prioritized sound, free-market economic policy. We thought it would be interesting to see which states have moved up and down the ladder the most over the last decade. The five most improved states are: North Carolina, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida, and Oklahoma. The five that are moving down the list fastest are Maryland, Missouri, Virginia, Colorado, and Mississippi. If you’re wondering where California, Illinois, and New York are on this list, they’ve been so stuck in the basement for the last decade, they can’t possibly fall any lower. BTW, Colorado’s problem is that Californians are swarming in and voting for the very progressive policies that have ruined the once-Golden State. For more check us out at the Daily Torch.com.

We Need to Clean House!

One big thing Republicans are promising if they gain control of the House in the midterms. With today’s ALG I’m Catherine Mortensen. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is promising to strip key committee assignments of antisemitic members like Ilhan Omar. Here is what McCarthy told Fox and Friends.

“I can promise you this, if we are fortunate enough to have the majority, Omar would not be serving on Foreign Affairs — or anybody that has an antisemitic, anti-American view. That is not productive, and that is not right.”

He previously called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to take action against Omar after the controversial congresswoman tweeted an exchange she had with Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a congressional hearing in which she appeared to conflate the actions of the United States and Israel with those of the Taliban and Hamas. When called upon to censure or rebuke Omar for her comments, Pelosi stated very clearly that she will not rebuke Omar. We need a change in House Leadership!
