The more we learn about the assault on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 following the Save America Rally that coincided with objections being raised in Congress to the results of the Electoral College and the certification of President-elect Joe Biden, the more it appears to have been a pre-planned operation or operations by multiple groups who targeted the rally, the Capitol and even the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters. Specifically, Steven D’Antuono, the head of the FBI field office in Washington, D.C. told reporters on Jan. 12 that “We developed some intelligence that a number of individuals were planning to travel to the D.C. area with intentions to cause violence.” In addition, in Washington, D.C. pipe bombs were planted at both the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee. And the planning for the Capitol allegedly occurred weeks ahead of time in part, based on public reporting from the FBI and media outlets: in chatrooms, on message boards, on Facebook, YouTube, Parler, Gab and other social media outlets. Meaning, no matter what President Trump said at the rally, there was likely to have been violence at the Capitol. At the speech on Jan. 6, President Trump explicitly urged those protesting the certification of the election results by Congress to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” If the riot at the U.S. Capitol was planned weeks ahead of time, then it wasn’t a spontaneous event that occurred as a result of the speech. For people who don’t like walls and fences, the Democrats sure are building a lot of them these days! With Today’s ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen.

The federal government has constructed security walls and fencing across Washington, DC, in anticipation of President-elect Joe Biden inauguration this week, even though he opposes such barriers at the nation’s international borders.

Following riots at the United States Capitol on January 6, the federal government has ordered 25,000 National Guardsmen to Washington, DC.

Crews are erecting barriers with razor wire around the U.S. Capitol. Similar barriers have been placed along streets and around the reflecting pool which sits in between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.

While the barriers will be in place through next week’s inauguration, Biden has promised to stop all construction of wall at the U.S.-Mexico border and has claimed that such barriers do not reduce illegal crossings, though federal data indicates otherwise.

The Big Tech censorship and cancel culture may soon come to you and me.

Think about everything you do in daily life. Consider how reliant you are on goods and services controlled by entities in whole or in part run by executives who hate your political views.

The left has already said it is making lists to prevent Trump administration personnel from getting jobs in the private sector. What’s to stop them or their allies in the media and corporate America from doing the same to any of us?

If this continues, the American Left could develop a Chinese communist party style “social credit” system where private enterprises grade us on ideology and determine what we can and cannot do based on how closely we hew to its ideology.

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning appeared on nationally syndicated CBS Radio with Dave Ross discussing the deplatforming of Parler by Amazon, Apple and Google, saying that Big Tech is cutting off voices that are denouncing violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

While not a Christian group, we will be proceeding along the lines of Christian principles, because if we fail to win the battle against moral relativism, the rest is lost.

As we move into the tumultuous times ahead, remember that it was only Jesus who could calm the sea, and while his message of forgiveness and love is counterintuitive, it is the only way to reconciliation.

To be clear, this does not mean that we should be weak or kneel to those who would deny us basic freedoms. It means each of us controls how we react to every circumstance. A decade ago, it was popular to ask the question “What would Jesus do?” Today, asking that question in every circumstance is more important than ever.

And while you are acting like Christ, you just never know who is watching.

We live in perilous times, which gives us a unique opportunity to be an example. The only question that remains is what kind of example do you want to be?
