Texas to the rescue! With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Just as hope for a fair and honest election begins to fade for many Americans, the Texas Attorney General has filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the election results in four key states. Paxton’s lawsuit challenges the election procedures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin on the grounds they violate the Constitution. Texas is asking the Supreme Court to order the states to allow their legislatures to appoint their electors. There is clear and compelling evidence these states violated the Constitution. They used the Covid pandemic to justify ignoring state absentee and mail-in voting laws. In flooding their states with millions of absentee ballot applications and ballots, statutory controls went out the window. For the sake of not only this election, but all future elections, we need every state attorneys general to support this lawsuit. Our republic is at stake. The U.S. media has bombarded Americans with a torrent of unrelenting bad news when it comes to Covid. A new National Bureau of Economic Research paper says the media went too far and created a climate of fear and even panic. They found that 91 percent of stories by major U.S. media outlets were negative in tone. Stories of increasing Covid-19 cases outnumbered stories of decreasing cases by a factor of more than 5-to-1, even during times when new cases were declining. That imbalance in media coverage has created a climate of fear. Americans, including our lawmakers, began to respond to the virus in irrational ways. Basic virology went out the window as ’15 days to flatten the curve’ devolved into a mad idea that we must close down society and shelter from the virus, unleashing unprecedented restrictions on economic freedom and destroying untold numbers of lives and livelihoods in the process. Not wanting a repeat of what appears to be widespread voter fraud in the November election, Georgia’s GOP is stepping up election oversight to ensure the January 5 senate run-off elections are open and honest.

“At this point it matters less who won or lost, than for the votes to have been tallied and counted fairly,” Manning said. “If hard working American taxpayers lose faith in the legitimacy of the government, America fails.”

Trump Strikes Back Against Rogue Bureaucrats. With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Every president should be able to trust the advice he is given by senior bureaucrats, and he should be able to trust that his orders will be executed. Unfortunately for President Trump, this has not been the case. Now Trump has issued an executive order creating a new class of senior bureaucrats who can be hired and fired more easily.

If these bureaucrats cannot or will not do their jobs, then they should resign or be removed. No president should be put in the position of not being able to trust the civil service.

This executive order is a step in the right direction, but now Congress needs to take action and pass Senator David Perdue’s MERIT Act which would make it easier to fire lazy or incompetent bureaucrats – not just senior ones – who will not do the job they were tasked to do.

Bureaucrats who refuse to follow the lawful orders of presidents and senior administration officials are undermining our republic. For more check us out at the Daily Torch.com.

Congress must reject a dangerous government rate-setting proposal that would defund frontline doctors in the midst of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Big health insurance companies and their allies in Congress are taking advantage of a massive end-of-year spending package to force price controls into healthcare. If passed, the proposal will devastate rural healthcare providers by leading to doctor shortages and hospital closures.

How Democrats and the media politicized a Covid vaccine. With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. The head of the government’s coronavirus vaccine program now says that as many as 100 million people could be vaccinated by the end of February. Weirdly, Democrats found a way to politicize a life-saving vaccine. Gallup pollsters have been surveying Americans since July about their willingness to get a Covid vaccination. Democrats were consistently more likely that Republicans to answer yes. But in late August, President Trump announced a vaccine would be available before the end of the year. And Democrats lost their minds. Support among Democrats for a vaccine plummeted in the following two weeks. When it appeared that a vaccine could give President Trump an advantage in the election, Democrats stopped wanting to get vaccinated.

However, since the election, Democrats are much more willing to get vaccinated. When they think Joe Biden will get some sort of credit or advantage for the vaccine, they are more willing to embrace a vaccine. Go figure! For more check us out at the Daily Torch.com

Taking your Second Amendment rights seriously and protecting your loved ones. With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Twelve years ago, Nikki Goeser watched helplessly as a stalker murdered her husband in cold blood. Tragically, at the time, she was a concealed carry permit holder, but state law forbade her from bringing her firearm into the restaurant where her husband was killed. Goeser is now a gun rights advocate and wrote about her experience in her book, Stalked and Defenseless. She wants to save others from the suffering she endured after gun control laws left her defenseless. It frustrates her that victims of violence will often blame the firearm instead of the perpetrator. Goeser blamed the murderer and those who legislated her out of her right to protect herself and her husband. She warns that Joe Biden is no friend of the Second Amendment and if he gains the presidency and Republicans lose the Senate, gun control bills will be passed that put law-abiding citizens in danger.
