An Obama retread tells America things could get worse. Tips for surviving Biden’s ‘dark winter. With the ALG Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Former UN ambassador Susan Rice, slated to become a Domestic Policy advisor if Joe Biden assumes the White House, is warning that Covid “is not the big one” and that a future pandemic could be worse. Rice is picking up where Biden left off in the last presidential debate in which he warned Americans, “We’re about to go into a dark winter. A dark winter.” All of this gloom and doom is exhausting and psychologically wearing.

Here are three tips to help us survive and thrive during what could be four long years of negative news.

Avoid steady diet of negative, fear-inducing news. it leads to a sense of helplessness.

Focus on what we can control and look for opportunities to have a positive effect on people and situations around you.
Finally avoid isolation by staying connected to like-minded friends.

Sorry, Democrats, What Goes Around, Comes Around. If Democrats truly want the country to heal, or to ever be believed again, they first need to stop lying. Democrats cannot understand why Republicans would question the election results in spite of the fact that Democrats sought to undermine anti-voter fraud measures in the run-up to the election; that Republican observers were not allowed to observe vote counting; and that massive numbers of Biden votes were counted in the middle of the night while no Republican observers were present. Of course, in recent years, Democrats have repeatedly disputed unfavorable election results and pushed wild conspiracy theories. When George W. Bush defeated Al Gore in 2000, Democrats claimed that Bush had cheated and was illegitimate. In 2016, when Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, Democrats quickly claimed that Russians had stolen the election and refused to accept that Trump had won. With the fate of our Republic hanging in the balance, not even a visit to see the White House Christmas decorations can escape a spirited discussion about the election fraud. Two friends and I had the privilege of visiting the White House last week and we spent the entire time talking about the overwhelming evidence of massive voter fraud and our frustration with the courts’ refusal to even hear the merits of the many cases. Time magazine posted an article quoting a black disability rights activist dismissing Helen Keller as “just another, despite disabilities, privileged white person and yet another example of history telling the story of privileged white Americans.” We’re talking about Helen Keller who lost her sight and hearing and as an infant and in childhood was written off by her parents as incapable of learning. The same Helen Keller who through grit and perseverance learned to read and write and eventually graduated from what is now Radcliffe College (now Harvard University).
